That doesn't even make sense. Certifications are based on shipments anyway not sales, and pretty much all labels purchase certifications for an album because

A. It's based on shipments like I said
B. They know for a fact the album the album will sell what it has been certified for

Stan card aside, Beyonce has shown the most longevity because she's been able to stay relevant without over saturating the music market. I mean let's look at the stats:

Beyonce: 4 albums in 10 years
Lady Gaga: 3 albums in 3 years
Rihanna: 6 albums in 6 years
Ke$ha: 2 albums in 1 year

The way these girls are trying to stay relevant is sad. And because of that they'll burn out faster. In regards to the question, I think Gaga will burn out fastest since she's exhausted most her gimmicks so early on in her career. What's next for her if she can't pander to the gehs?

Thank you sis. A reasonable Britney stan finally enters. Sometimes I wish Beyoncé had started her solo career a bit earlier so she could've racked up more solo album sales as opposed to starting in 03 and only being on her 4th album now. She could've easily replicated DILs success and had some heavy hitter sales for the start of her career.

Certifications are based on SHIPMENTS not SALES. Of course the label is going to buy the plaque because it most likely already shipped 1 million and it will clearly sell one million by the time the 4 era is completely done with. Most labels buy the certifications before they sell the amount unless they are lazy and cheap like Jive ()
