I gave it a 7, it's a nice cover besides being predictable. Much better than See the Day, which should've been GONE now.
That's probably my favorite Girls ballad
And I'm glad I'll Stand By You is out. It's probably their worst #1. I'm not sure why Love Bomb is out so early but it's not really that amazing of a song, probably just 10-20 spaces too low.
Girls On Film, Everything You Ever Wanted and Love Bomb are the only tracks from SOTU that I dislike and now they're all gone, while the rest is still here
Actually, their cover of Robyn her classic works? Their harmonies are broken, as usual, but there's a bit of ugliness there that really suits the song; it's far more interesting than the competent harmonies fellow five piece group The Saturdays produce on a regular.
BCYLM was the only really good song to leave today. I hated it the first time I heard it, but started to love it after the TOTP performance. It's such a great cheesy ballad.
I do love a bratty number, and "Money" is both bratty and obnoxious. But it has a sense of fun that is lacking in "I Think We're Alone Now" and it's far less clinical than "Something Kinda Ooooh," which makes it probably my favorite from the SOGA release.
It's weird to think of this being a weak number, but with how well Tangled Up is as an album...
look, I've been waiting to use it, so why not here?
... something on it will feel like filler. It's not a bad song in the slightest and it's a nice bridge towards the ending tracks, but I figured "Damn" would be the one that would rate lowest. Plus, I like the beat.
Ok, it's sorta a ballad. That's when their ballads are better, especially when there is less of a need for harmonies. The Girls work well as a unit but damn it they cannot blend for anything, yet they almost get it right on the final bridge/chorus/whatever for the song.

It's a bit of a corker, isn't i?
Continuing along the sorta-ballad stretch of the countdown we have this slow burner of a number that works waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than it has any right to. I'm actually a bit shocked this wasn't a single (say, in lieu of "I'll Stand By You"?). It's got a touch of early-00's r&b running through it but they make it work rather well. Not a bad track at all.
Bur in the end it's fine. For filler. It's trying to be two songs at once but doesn't get the production right, which makes it a bit hard to listen to. But it sets the tone for future tracks in which many a song are thrown together to make pop classics.

Ah, the Nadine song.
Her voice is stellar, no denying of that. But what the hell is with the bossa nova styling of this song? It actually throws off the whole vibe of Chemistry if you play it - and since it was considered a bonus track you might not of. It actually didn't give an indication of her solo desires and actually sounds far more dated than the album it's on, which plays with musical nostalgia like no other.
Cuz of class I'm not posting the final two songs right now. I might post them tonight but it would be late. More likely it's a 12 song update tomorrow (yay not having class after 2, makes it easier to recap).
