Exactly this, having Madonna as her influence worked wonders for Gaga, I imagine that will remain her peak.
I'm a little disappointed because after seeing pics of Madonna and Gaga together I thought the shady period is left in the past but obviously not.
I hope Medoner doesn't read about it because we are not ready for Reductive Reloaded it will be bigger than Rhenna 8.

Iron Maiden started using 3 guitarists (the electric bass doesn't count as a guitar) and opened new possibilities not possible with 2 guitars.
(Traditional) heavy metal evolved and splintered into many different styles and subgenres with bigger differences between the multiple ends of the spectrum inside metal than between heavy metal and bubblegum pop.
If you ask 10 band members (from different bands) what the definition of metal is, you get 10 different answers. However there is 1 band metalheads can agree on, Iron Maiden. When Iron Maiden plays at a metal festival, in my country all the other stages went silent. Because there is no need for the other bands when Iron Maiden plays.
By being the pariah cast aside, Gaga is the furthest away from Iron Maiden uniting the community.

She should give credit where credit is due.

She has and it doesn't matter if she didn't; you'd still be pissed either way ![lmao](http://atrl.net/forums/images/smilies/images/smilies/lmao.gif)

Agreed. They were calling Charli xcx the new Madonna. Not a big accomplishment tbh. I get why Gaga's tired of it + gets compared to the greats.

nnnn;
Pottery paintings, frescoes, reliefs etc. show that ponytail was a popular hairstyle for example among ancient Minoans, Romans, Greeks, Egyptians and so on, worn by men and women equally. But we all know Madonna invented ponytails for us mere mortals, so your argument is invalid anyway ![Sistrens](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/korn0818/ATRL_Smilies_All/random/mskt8j_zpsfb323382.gif)

I'm sorry but, she's definitely influenced by Madonna. I also see a lot of David Bowie and Grace Jones in her style, but she's definitely a Madonna spawn.

when the comparisons got too obvious gaga stopped giving credit to her and always shadily put her down, as if saying "why would i wanna look or be like madonna, I'm better". not in those words but thats always the vibe she gives. later she also screamed "i don't want your ****ing crown" and when someone thought she looked like madonna in a photoshoot she quickly corrected the fan saying its joan jett with a very nasty undertone to madonna. as if gaga is too good to be compared to a "pop" female like madonna. how dare we even think that.
and madonna has always been positive and nice about gaga. she said the comparisons to btw are reductive (as in: the media talking about the comparisons) but in the same interview she also compliments gaga and says she's talented and that she DOESNT copy her, because "she's she and i'm me". (hence why she said "she's not me" on MDNA)
i know one thing, if madonna would've ever let on about gaga being "below" her and not liking the comparisons people make, (because she's so much more "punk" or "authentic" then her or whatever the reason) monsters & gaga would've thrown a tantrum. meanwhile gaga can do the same thing and madonna doesn't say anything. i say gaga gets away with SO much.

The ones that don't want to like her will find excuses to dislike her, always been like that,
so I don't even bother anymore. Gaga is just fed up with being compared with Madonna,
which is understandable.

I'm sorry but where did you read "I am not influenced by Madonna" in this article ?
She is influenced by Madonna, obviously, otherwise it wouldn't SAY SO on her own debut album
She has many influences, too many. From Elton John to David/Madonna, to Freddie & MJ, even Britney (kind of) ...
And in this article she is talking about the cultural part of having a huge and dedicated fanbase, not about the musical style ![toofunny2](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/korn0818/ATRL_Smilies_All/faces/toofunny2_zpsb54f2d2d.gif) Y'all can't read.

Mte, but its hilarious how desperately she tries to avoid the comparisons, even dragging Iron Maiden into it ![laugh](images/smilies/images/smilies/laugh.gif)

She'd still be wrong because all major artists have dedicated fanbases and they've been naming them since Madonna's "Wannabes" in the 80s and Mariah's "Lambs" in the 90s. She's not special.
Anyway, she got the whole fan/community thing from Ball culture. Mother Monster, Haus of Gaga, Little Monsters... She watched Paris is Burning one too many times.
Iron Maiden had nothing to do with it.
