The not-so-happy happy ending felt more realistic to me. I agree that the ending was rushed, but I was crying so much by then that it didn't even matter to me

Exactly this.
I can understand why a lot of people didn't like it, but I thought it was perfect. The only complaint I had was the fact what we never really saw how Peeta got better I kind of felt he just showed up and was like, "LOL! I'm better, everyone! Don't know how I did it, but that's unimportant! Let's plant some flowers!"

I didn't have any issues with the ending tbh, I just wish she'd taken her time writing it. It was like after the big finale battle-scene, she was worried that people would get bored reading a long-winded ending, but the series really needed one. They can fix that with the movies though, and they'd probably have to if they plan on splitting the last book into two movies.

I Just finished reading Now, and I really Like the end. It was Fast But I don't think it was Bad, I Loved it.
And if there is a Movie of the last Book, they Will Have a Lot to Work with that Part.
And I Was so Happy for the One She Choose, We're not here for the lessors

Yas Katniss is so fierce, she got a lot of **** over her and so much pressure and she still survived. And yes they will have a lot of work with the last book.

I'm kinda disappointed that everything was so rushed in the end. So that's why I also got the same feeling like Annie didn't care at all, but she probably did. Or maybe not because she was weird but we will never know, hopefully when they release a movie for it we will know. That part where she killed Coin was amazing. When Gale gave her that last arrow, Katniss thinking about everything and that conversation with Snow made me think that Katniss would maybe kill Coin because it was definitely Coin's fault that Prim died. So when she did I was so happy.

pretty much this. a lot of characters didn't have much explanation afterwards, its hard to get closure when you get attached to certain characters. Was kinda like ok wars over, bye. Realistic ending indeed but just left many questions unanswered

Let me take out the spoiler tag and explain to ya'll why the ending and the entire book was complete trash.

Like everyone said, it was a rushed mess. Not only that but when alot of important **** went down Katniss was asleep in a ****ing cupboard or passed out. Like why would you have her miss the important political ****? The fallout after Snow's capture? And so on?

Ugh, and let me drag her so called "realistic deaths". What was the ****ing point of killing Prim? The only thing I liked about that is that it ended up breaking her and Gale up for good since it was his fault. Also she basically never spoke to her mom again after it all went down. What kinda "happy ending" is that? Finnick's death was also pointless. I think she only killed him because he was a fan favorite. The majority of the deaths were so damn unnecessary.

Now lets talk about that piece of **** KatPee ending. Never in all my life have I ever had my OTP end up together yet it feel so damn empty. Did you girls read what I was reading? How they both had nightmares every night and how they weren't even really happy? How it took the bitch YEARS to have kids and even then they are still depressed as **** and only keep living just to keep living? How is that "happy"? How?

Oh and please don't bring Breaking Dawn into this. I LOVE that series and hated the last book but even that horrid book SHAT on Mockingjay.

Finnick's death was unnecessary, but it was put in to show that war has no mercy and will kill just about anyone. It's like in Harry Potter. Tonks, Lupin and Fred died for no reason whatsoever except to show that war will kill anyone, no matter if the reason is justified or not. Prim's on the other hand, had symbolic significance. The story began with Prim and ended with her. It was an ironic symbol, really. But I totally agree that too many questions were left unanswered. Like I said, the ending was rushed. As for Breaking Dawn being better, I'll have to disagree. Breaking Dawn was 700 pages of people saying they're going to do something without anything ever actually happening. I found it to be a poorly written mess that Stephenie Meyer literally made up as she went along. I read all four Twilight books when I was in middle school; and although none of them were literary masterpieces, the first and third book at least had a rising action, climax, and falling action. The second book did too...kind of. But you're right. I shouldn't be talking about Twilight in a Hunger Games thread. So I apologize for that.
Back to the ending. It wasn't meant to be happy. After all that those characters had endured, there was no possible way for them to ever truly have a happy ending. I think Katniss just tried to see it as any sort of ending or just a relief. But definitely not happy. Not all books have to have happy endings. The reason I liked Mockingjay so much was not only because I really enjoyed all the action scenes but because it was so harsh and brutal. There was no sugarcoating whatsoever. That's how I like my books. It just floats my boat, I guess. This is a really unpopular opinion, mind you. A LOT of people hate Mockingjay. I'm just part of the scarce few that doesn't

I'm not going to judge her, just because she could easily surprise me...but as far as look and demeanor, I was hoping for someone less...chick flick.
Still, she could very easily shock us, so we shall see.

I'm still hoping for Emma Stone, if we're going to "famous" route. I just think she'd be able to pull it off perfectly. But an unknown actress would be great too

I <3 you but yea, we are just gonna have to agree to disagree. It just drained me so badly. I never had a book affect me like that. New Moon kinda affected me in a bad way but I always knew Edward was right around the corner but yea, the bleak ending in THG ruined the entire series for me. Its odd how one book can affect you like that. I was just so emotionally invested in the characters and it was just....sad.

Kristen loves the series but yea...no thanks. She doesn't fit Joanna. We need someone bitchy and more fierce/confident. Can't think of anyone who would fit it off the top of my head.
