No oddly enough the Vatican does not consist of 1.2 billion people, you are confusing the religion with the institution and a large portion of those 1.2 billion are at risk or have contracted HIV because of the Vatican's teaching against demonic contraception I notice we are still sweeping the whole AIDs thing quietly under the rug and hoping nobody notices.

I don't necessarily agree with the Church's position on this, but God's original purpose for creating sex was for reproduction. Humans are the only creatures that have sex for pleasure.

Yes to priests getting married, maybe to women being priests, and no to lowering the age; we're talking about a man responsible for more than a billion people around the world, 40 years old is way too young for such a huge task.

See, and this is where you've lost me.

I was with you with your comments earlier because as a religion, that's they're choice whether or not to perform those rites.

But see: Christianity is a religion of LOVE and ACCEPTANCE. Thou shalt not judge and 'separated brethren' is pretty inflammatory.

This is why I refuse to go through confirmation. I attend the cathedral for mass, which is very pro-gay btw, and love the congregation; but to become a member of the general population of Catholics? No. No way. Not when other denominations that believe in Jesus Christ are 'separated brethren.'
