I'm just explaining it since it seems there are people who cannot fathom how it could ever be perceived as lazy. The linked list is a receipt for that. And I agree completely that the album doesn't need to be extravagant and that in the end it is just an album title. If last week Beyonce announced 'Beyonce Giselle" as her new album I'd be saying the exact same things. I also criticized Ciara's choice of naming her album "Ciara". Would you guys be praising "Beyonce Giselle" the way that you are praising "Britney Jean"?

oh hush, talkin about lazy when beyonce's last album was named "4," would love to hear your analyzation and justification for that

I'd like it except for the fact that she already has an album called 'Britney' that was also meant to symbolize the "real her"
Still a decent title and I look forward to the album.

Madonna ha impact.

Such a reach. There are so many examples of Madonna influencing Britney and you choose this.
Logic: Like fave, unlike stan.

I love how people don't see the obvious concept of this being a personal album.
'Britney' was to cement Brand Britney Spears
'Britney Spears" a personal album

You don't have to plan anything. No photoshoot, no performances, no promotion. You don't even have to worry about naming projects -- you can just rehash titles like "All Eyes on Me", "Piece of Me" and "BRITNEY JEAN" and they would get approved.
|
And still has your mind consumed. Magic...better yet tragic for you.

Hopefully the album is as personal as she keeps saying, especially after naming it Britney Jean
Overall, I like it and if it is a personal album it will be kinda refreshing

Yep.

I hope not. Damita Jo is not personal to me. It's a weak effort but still solid but not in comparison to her 90s work.

I apologize that Work Bitch song didn't do anything for me, or that I wasn't thrilled by it's video, or that I find Britney Spear's new album title Britney Jean to be not that hard to come up with. I was unaware I'm supposed to love it all. I am interested in Britney and I enjoy her, which is why I comment on these things. But these are just opinions, not hate. If you can see the difference you will be less bothered by them. This is ATRL, a pop forum not Exhale the fan site. So you're going to have to deal with criticism. And it won't necessarily be hate. And it will be okay.
You act like if Britney came with a powerhouse performance, brilliant song and creative album title that I'd still criticize it.
|
But how can you enjoy something if you never see anything positive about it? I understand you don't like the album title (I'm not a fan of it either) or the song. But the video is amazing and almost everyone sane loved it, but you still hated it. So, I don't understand which part of Britney you really enjoy if you dislike everything about her. Also, the way you express your opinion is what it makes you sound like you're so bothered or something.

I better not see something messy like "Britney Spears - Britney Jean" on the album cover though.

JEAN would've been perfect.

I like Britney Jean as an album title, especially since it's being marketed as super personal. reclaim that empire, Brit.

You mean that the album she released that was primarily focused on her ecstatic love/relationship with songs like 1+1, Love on Top, I Miss You, Countdown, End of Time, Rather Die Young, Dance For You etc. shouldn't be named a number that is personal to Beyonce and Jay-Z? A number that not only represents their birthdays but also the date of their wedding? A number they both have tattoo-ed on their wedding fingers? A number that the then pregnant Beyonce and Jay-Z chose to incorporate into their daughters name (IV - Ivy).
Easy title, yes for sure. But it represents much more than just her 4th album.

I like that the idea of the album is that it is personal to her, but could someone please explain to me how the **** Work Bitch is a personal song?

Well I'm not about to stop caring about Britney just because I don't like her most recent work. I loved Scream & Shout (the song). I love her as a pop star. I think she's a very entertaining personality. She makes effortless sounding pop music and is truly and icon. I like her a lot. It doesn't mean that I think that everything she does it brilliant. That's not really the relationship I have with her work.

I love the album title. Britney says her album is personal -- choosing a name that's personal for her and sharing it with her fans is her way of helping further that.
It's quite fitting actually. On "Britney," she was not a girl, not yet a woman -- and it was clear based on her material. On "Britney Jean" she's more than a woman -- she's a mother, an exceptional earner and a woman who's been through some ****. I look forward to hearing how this all comes together.
I know "Work Bitch" isn't really personal, but it is a motivational dance anthem meant to encourage lazy bitches and discouraged bitches to work hard if they want to succeed.

swissman can you please stop. We get it, everything that Beyonce does has meaning probably her eating a salad has meaning too. Well Britney Jean doesn't have a meaning, it's just her name now chill out.

I'm sorry if I missed it or am too dense to have noticed but all I've read was people saying that the album is "personal" and that her family calls her this name. That's not really that deep. Your family gives you your middle name, and your name represents you, so I'm not seeing how there is "more than just her first and middle name."
