Let me begin hyping. The chart should be here tomorrow morning/afternoon/evening/whenever I publish it (tomorrow though)
I've gotten about 40 charts with some left to be updated (just the thursday morning charts - no pressure, I know who you are and will wait). There are some very surprising debuts and movements this week
Former 7 week number 1 Style may have free-fallen last week (and continues to drop) but former number 1 Love Me Like You Do falls off the chart completely this week. It had an admirable run of 13 consecutive weeks on the chart, with many spent in the top 5, but no longer.
Rihanna's Bitch Better Have My Money notches another week at number one in a very monochromatic top 5, but beside Rih and her Bitch song, the rest of the top 5 is completely replenished with a fresh stock of newly peaking songs. Since sumthintoxic82 retired Ariana Grande's One Last Time, her song falls off the chart as well and in her place Carly Rae Jepsen's I Really Like You, Adam Lambert's Ghost Town (ties the record for the highest debut for a male), Hilary Duff's Sparks, and Rihanna's American Oxygen all rise into the top 5. With two songs in the top 5, Rihanna becomes the second artist to place two songs within the top 5 since Taylor Swift with Style and Blank Space.
Excitingly, one chart made the difference between a Top 5 placement for Hilary Duff. If the number one song ("Sparks") on that chart was replaced with the number 2 song on that chart (Natalie La Rose's "Somebody") Natalie and Jeremih would be sitting at number 4 and Hilary would currently be placed between 5 and 7. Interesting stuff I know...
A little further down the chart, Tori Kelly and Jason Derulo both re-enter with current singles Nobody Love and Want To Want Me and both songs chart lower than their previous peaks, but each song re-enters with more total points due to the fact that more charts are currently active (this chart compiled data from 47 personal charts including a revived chart from potentbreaksong, stop by and tell him hi).
Notably, this week marks the highest charting K-Pop song, EXO's Call Me Baby which enters the top 11 at number 11 and the chart sees a debut from Tinashe's current single All Hands On Deck.
