This album is something serious, I feel like I'll need 50 listens to digest it. This is the kind of album that will make me ashamed to listen to pop music for like a week.

It's a different kind of album, nowhere near as accessible so I'm not expecting it to have the same fanfare, but it should get amazing reviews.
Yeah there aren't any 'bangers', its mostly funk and jazz influenced production throughout. But it's so well produced, and Kendrick sounds good on all of it.
So happy Rapsody got a spot on the album, she needs more exposure
On first listen, no. But it's a much stronger statement than GKMC and the lyrics are even more intellectual and next level. GKMC is still better sound wise though.
that for free Interlude kinda reminds me of eminem
I totally agree actually.
Didn't get to finish the album before school, I got up to Hood Politics but I enjoyed it so much. Not sure whether I can even compare it to GKMC because the sounds are so different.
After listening to the previews of the album, I'm going to buy on it on iTunes. I would later since it's late in the morning and I"m tired. ATRL kept me awake all night long. Loving the praise this is getting from this thread and Twitter (Trending worldwide and #1 on iTunes). Some interesting comments from you guys about the album. I'm loving the funk and jazz mix of the album where Lamar goes in and also trying to be funny. I can't wait to go deep on this. For now, I just listening like it is.
