Daydream Nation deserved much better. Paralelle Lines is also a fantastic record even though it didn't make my list. Mariah Carey ![Mazen](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/korn0818/19971843.gif)

Christ, I hope that's the last we hear from Mariah. ![Mazen](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/korn0818/19971843.gif) Above SY, Blondie, the Stones, and Bowie too. ![Mazen](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/korn0818/19971843.gif) Simply dreadful.
Didn't expect to see the Stones! Hope they'll return!

Sorry Mr. Fahrenheit
90. Aretha Franklin - Young, Gifted and Black (1972)
Points: 175
Submitters: Suilen, Latinazza, Reverie
Southern Soul, Deep Soul
Funk |
Quote:
Young, Gifted and Black is the nineteenth studio album by American singer Aretha Franklin, released on January 24, 1972 by Atlantic Records.
Young, Gifted and Black shows Aretha Franklin as emotionally honest and intimate as she's ever been, relating the pain of a failed relationship, the joy of a new one, her confidence in her songwriting, not to mention her piano playing, abilities, and her pride in being a black woman.

89. Otis Redding - Otis Blue (1965)
Points: 176
Submitters: Wicked, Playa Playa, KingKunta
Southern Soul, Deep Soul
Rhythm & Blues, Blues |
Quote:
Otis Blue: Otis Redding Sings Soul, or simply Otis Blue, released September 15, 1965 on Stax Records, is the third studio album by soul singer Otis Redding.
The album mainly consists of cover songs by popular R&B and soul artists, and, bar one track, was recorded in a 24-hour period over July 9/10 1965 at the Stax Recording Studios in Memphis, Tennessee. Otis Blue was critically acclaimed upon release and became one of Redding's most successful albums. Otis Blue is included in a number of "best album" lists, including Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time, Time magazine's list of the All-Time 100 Greatest Albums, and Robert Dimery's "1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die".

88. Akina Nakamori - Fushigi (1986)
Points: 177
Submitters: Suilen, Kxvk,
Synthpop, J-Pop
Ethereal Wave, New Wave, Art Pop |
Quote:
不思議(or Fushigi) is Akina Nakamori's ninth concept album released on August 11, 1986. Despite using unique vocal techniques foreign to her fanbase, the album proved to sell moderately well, debuting #1 with 464,000 copies and staying there for 3 weeks.
The only album self-produced by Akina Nakamori, one of the biggest Japanese pop stars of the 1980s; an unusual record that fuses midtempo pop with experiments in echoing, plutonic soundscape, as unique and unconventional as the original mix of The Stooges’ Raw Power. Musically, Fushigi is an ’80s pop album par excellence, stacked with busy bass lines and dramatic synths. And yet it doesn’t really sound like anything that came out of the pop mainstream of the time.

87. Tori Amos - From the Choirgirl Hotel (1998)
Points: 177
Submitters: Blueberry Mary, TheWayWeWere, HereInMyHead
Singer/Songwriter, Art Pop
Alternative Rock, Electronic, Trip Hop |
Quote:
From the Choirgirl Hotel is the fourth studio album by American singer and songwriter Tori Amos. A departure from her previous albums, it was more a heavily-produced project featuring a full rock band sound (instead of Amos's usual minimalist piano sound).
Upon its release in May 1998, the album debuted at number 5 in the US and number 6 in the UK. While falling short of the number 2 debut for her previous album, Boys for Pele (1996), From the Choirgirl Hotel is Amos's strongest debut to date in US sales, selling 153,000 copies in the first week.

86. Mariah Carey - Merry Christmas (1994)
Points: 178
Submitters: KingOfUrbanPop, MirrorcleMonster, feelslikeadream
Christmas Music, Contemporary R&B
Gospel, Dance-Pop |
Quote:
Merry Christmas is the first Christmas album, and the fourth studio album, by American singer and songwriter Mariah Carey. Released by Columbia Records on November 1, 1994, the album features cover versions of popular Christmas tunes and original material.
Carey worked with Walter Afanasieff, with whom she wrote all of the original tracks, as well as producing Carey's interpretations of the covered material. The album contains a contemporary holiday theme, and featured "authentic, gospel flavored background vocals". Three singles were released from the album, of which All I Want for Christmas Is You went on to become one of the best-selling singles of all time.

Otis Blue is the definition of a CLASSIC.
Mess at Mariah. I'm a huge fan, but if everyone of her albums make the list... ![Bibliotheque](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/korn0818/ATRL_Smilies_All/atrlers/biblio_zps23dff242.gif)

Aretha and Otis!
That's a weird Tori Amos album to make it this far... I'm assuming we'll be hearing more from her.
And not the Christmas album. Have some ****ing dignity people.

Otis Blue! I almost put it on my list, but glad it made it anyway.
Wouldn't mind seeing Mariah's debut (her best album) make it tbh.

Boys for Pele? Eh, it's cute but doesn't do much for me.
Hoping the one I put on comes through.

Otis Blue ![smitten](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/korn0818/ebf69f50.gif) I love it so much.
Yet again, I checked out Suilen & Kxvk's submission and it was great.
Aretha's album is great too but I haven't listened to it enough. Same with Tori..
This hate for Mariah ![dies](images/smilies/images/smilies/dies.gif) But tbf Merry Christmas is too high on the list lol.
