Drunk In Love was more of a novelty hit. The sales show that people really aren't interested in the song itself nor has it done amazing on radio, but they'll say it did great because her track record as of late is embarassing. If the song was truly huge it would have had good single sales as well as pushing album units a la Adele.
Applause wasn't that big either, especially for a lead single. *shrug*

Drunk in love sold 1.35 million (including this week) and will surely sell as much as Applause in the long run (all with one performance) the DIL video views aren't slowing down anytime soon... and why are the monsters acting like applause was some 5x platinum untouchable hit?
