Where does it say that they peaked at #2 in the hot100. Or even better, where on that site says the word "Hot100".
Green Day's first single to debut in the hot100 is "American Idiot". Sure they had some other major airplay hits before, but by those times no song without a cd single out could make it in the chart.

The same thing happened to No Doubt's "Don't Speak" wich was a huge airplay single but didin't even debut in the hot100. Nowadays, that soung would've easily peak in the top5.

DC soldier is bigger than LMB now, top 10 on pop and still starting to gain alot of spins. top 5 on rhythmic and top 2 on urban. next week, it might surpass "Lover's and friends" since they only 4 million audience behind.

if you read very carefully.. you'll se that green day release some of that songs as maxi singles in USa

Yeah, it did, but the Hot100 singles is a different thing from the Hot100 Singles AIRPLAY.

Gwen jumped to #28 in the hot100 this week !!!!!!. Top20 here she goes!.

Neither of them made it on due to the rule at the time that only songs available as retail singles could chart.
