Unless she is planning to get that ballad shoehorned into commercials, tv shows, promos etc...there would be no point in it being a lead single.
Ballads need a hardpush, and I don't see it happening with her. But it also depends on our definition of ballad. I think a mid-tempo is more fitting of a first single for her.
