Considering it's probably on track to sell over 500k this week, I don't see how it would be possible to boost it more. If anything, it'd probably lessen the fall it would be having.
Gotye isn't the one performing on American Idol, The Voice, or Glee. They all chose to perform his song. Guess the public has spoken.

Discounts are great.
It's kind of arrogant since in real life, some people can only afford items in stores when there is a sale. If someone can only afford a song at a discounted price, than that's great that they are able to purchase it.
Discounts are only in poor taste when they're ridiculous.
!!! I know the record companies and artists would hardly be receiving anything if it was priced that low but the current pricing is just robbery tbh.
Torches had another 3 sure-fire, well I thought they were, hits on the album. I have no idea why they didn't get a real second hit. Over here in the UK, Radio 1 has playlisted all their singles and spins them quite a lot yet they haven't even reached the top 100.

I agree. There's nothing wrong with them. I think it's always a good thing whenever songs are made cheaper. I wish all songs would be permanently discounted tbh.
I'd literally buy EVERYTHING if songs were 69 cents. Just for the heck of it.
It's simple economics. If you lower the price, more people buy it. So, honestly, if they were to lower price, the increased sales revenue would cover losses.
LOL, "Pay Phone" will not flop. It's formula is a successful one. People will eat it up regardless of personal opinion. Nothing was going to dethrone Gotye, anyway.
