Selena just performed once since November. But released 2 singles and a feature. So lazy! She is insecure but she will be fine if she rehearse a lot.
But she said in this latest interview she didn't expect the song do so well. I think they released it to indicate a new musical direction and showcase the new vocal style and also to coincide with Aple Music trial period. Looks like they planned release the next single soon. But now it smashed and they don't know what to do

The single is doing well, it just need some promo and can last at least for 1-2 months on its own. The second single should release before the album. (Like second single in Sep and album in Oct?)

I am sure with a better management team and record company, they are experienced enough to handle her era well.

this song is growing on me, and it's definitely a lot better than Cool For The Summer

but I hope there are much better songs on her album cause i still find this to be pretty lackluster
