So there's a thread "How would your fave rank their albums" and it got me thinking. How do y'all think Mariah would rank her albums from best to worst?
I feel like it'd be.
Butterfly (this is her album of freedom, the original emancipation, and during a '99 interview she said '97 was the best year of her life.) > Daydream (even w/ bad memories she absolutely loves Slipping Away, performed Looking In during 2013, she lovesss Fantasy, etc) > The Emancipation (moreso for the good memories associated) > Emotions (idk...she never brings this up, but she does love Make It Happen & Emotions) > Music Box (lol does she even like this) > Glitter=Charmbracelet (I think she still stands behind them despite the bashing, but knows they're nowhere near her best.) > Mariah Carey (she's always been bitter over her being a label slave, and them originally watering down the demos + she hates Someday and hasn't performed IDWC in like 15+ years) > Rainbow (she recorded this album solely to get out her contract and has never said she flat out thinks it's great).
I honestly have no idea where to put her last 3 releases (E=MC2, Memoirs, and Elusive) since she loved them during the release, then never talked about any of them after. I think Memoirs is her favorite out of the 3 though, with the way she was still on that era 5 years later trying to include It's a Wrap + Betcha Gon Know remixes, and she originally wanted to do a Remix Album of it.
I have to advocate for my one of my faves to break the record.
