I was watching p**n and fantastic baby was playing in the background and i decided to search for that song and I found BIGBANG and then i got into them and found out about 2NE1 and grew to love all YG artists. Thats how I got into Kpop
From what I've seen, I Am the Best is pretty much THE get-into-the-genre song for K-Pop.
Pretty much. All my fellow k-fan friends also got into k-pop because of 2NE1 and Big Bang.
YG its undeniable global appeal

So that's what happens to trainees that never leave the YG dungeon
These songs basically made K-pop a global sensation: IATB, Gee, Fantastic Baby, Lucifer, Nobody and some Super Junior song that I can't remember the name of.
While some of these artists did have viral videos beforehand, the Hallyu Wave was at it's peak during 2011.
Nobody was kinda one of the first, if not the first.
Wonder Girls their POWER.
I got into k-pop thru Legend Park Bom. Her hit song Don't Cry just dropped and a site I frequent posted it. People in the comment section posted 2NE1's songs and as soon as I clicked on It Hurts I was hooked.

I remember seeing the WG on Wendy's show back in like 2009 too. That was my "true" first taste of K-Pop I guess? So yes, I gotta co-sign that. WG destroyed their own career for everyone else
