You're right, people can make their own choices to forgive or not. In fact, I don't need to "forgive" him because I wasn't the one he attacked. But my foot will remain planted on his neck because abuse should be everyone's problem.
Also, that KKK part was a response to Smokey, his Brown comment. Ultimately, my point is that the amount of time ago a crime was committed and/or whether or not another person has gotten away with committing that same crime...does not negate the crime.
