Do you actually think they should be overspending and wasting time/effort in places which are very unlikely to swing in their favor? They're simply embracing and working on communities they know they can actually gather votes at. Nothing there screams enough to be "disgusted" by. Obama said that he didn't support Gay marriage when he ran in 2008 too. It was only when the majority agreed with Gay marriage that Obama came out and supported it. Call it political expediency, but it would be policitcal dumbness to come out and say you support gay marriage at a time when the majority were despondent to such an idea. It's funny actually. The same man who expressed how he believe a marriage is between a man and woman in 2008, ultimately championed the gay marriage ruling by The Supreme Court I'm 2015.

My guess is that both Hillary and Obama have both believed in Gay marriage for a long time, but it is only now they can say this without fear of losing so many votes.

It would be my guess that Bernie has also had evolving opinions on this matter throughout the years. Luckily, he has never run for President before now, or held a position as enriching as Secretary of State.

It's one thing to try and fail. It's another thing to try, fail, and dismiss, which is EXACTLY what he's doing when he and his campaign dismiss Hillary as a "regional candidate" and imply that voters in the South are somehow less Democratic while touting wins in ultra-liberal Alaska. And his supporters parrot this rhetoric. Dismissing Southern Dems is dismissing black voters, as everyone knows that most Dems in the South are black. That's dog-whistling at it's finest and disgusting rhetoric. Cool that it doesn't bother you and you see it as a "narrow" criticism. There's a reason it's called a dog whistle.

Dismissing and focusing more on states that have bigger potential of swinging in his favor is exactly what he should be doing, strategically. He can't be spending too much, wasting time, wasting effort, wasting energy in places that have shown solid groundbreaking support for his opponent.

I don't know about "less Democratic", but Southern voters are certainly less progressive. Not exactly the type of voters Bernie's campaign can take home.

I agree completely. The way Sanders and his campaign treats minorities and pockets of the country is disgraceful and I could not support it if there was a better alternative. Fortunately Clinton is on her way to being the nominee because if it were Sanders v Trump I would feel heartbroken casting a ballot for Bernie. His recent ad with Gabbard made me feel slightly better but his holier than thou campaign is dreadful

Gabbard is one of the most conservative Dems around. Sanders supporters give her a pass on their progressive purity testing, though.

I wouldn't say full out she's an islamophobe but clearly she has a problem with acceptance. Was one of my main critiques of her when she first endorsed Bernard. The other was her being a war hawk (like a serious one) yet she has grounds to claim Hillary is one and that's bad for the country. K sis. Good ad she has though

A small part of me wishes that he could get to the general and have his veneer of moral superiority destroyed...but that would mean President Trump.
