I have a feeling she will skip TCAs Red Carpet tbh, just like how she did at AMAs 2010.
Actually I hope that the news she will attend TCAs is a hoax.
I too can't wait for the announcement. But she needs to avoid the B list shows like TCAs if she wants to keep the hard earned credibility. And us as fans needs to re-check our list as well. I mean, do you guys love it if she keeps being associated to kiddie/tween crowd considering that she is 22 now? I would really hate it if she goes the Debbie Gibson route.
Taylor has already been confirmed by TCA as attending and possibly presenting or performing so the chances of her missing it are slim to none unless she is ill. I think her winning awards from multiple sectors is important with those that build her credibility and also those that exposes her to a wider audience that may not look at the country awards and appeals to both younger and older audiences. It is a delicate balance but Taylor doesn't need to do that disassociation yet and certainly not in such an obvious manner with an album coming out soon. Taylor needs to concern herself with the quality of her next album and everything else will take care of itself. I am concerned about Taylor not getting the message from the ACMs and CMAs where even though her album outsold all other country albums she didn't get an Album of the year or any other award she was nominated for except Entertainer. So I don't expect her to win anything at the CMAs this year but I am going to watch closely what happens with the first and second single to see what 2013 will bring at the country shows. Taylor's career is nothing like Debbie Gibson but she is going to have to deliver a stellar album and continue to play her cards right to continue career momentum and not stall out.

Lemme make a quick reply, since it's 6 AM and I haven't slept yet.
1. TCAs are rigged awards show by FOX. Love me a kid/tween awards show, but not this one.
2. One big reason why she's always been dismissed as a legit artist is because of her young fans.
3. Unfortunately a lot of those young fans are as smart as Bieber's, not a good thing.
4. As long as she appeals to all kind of audience sans the idiotic ones, no award needed.
5. Actually it's because I hate awards show. But this is not the place for long-ass rant, besides already talked abt it about 8 months ago.
6. LP4 is the make-it-or-break-it, not LP1/2/3. That's what my connections from US music market told me. Just being realistic there.
7. Still worried about it because we haven't heard LP4 yet, not even the first single.
8. As for the career strategy, not so worried about it. She will go far because she treats her fans like friends unlike the other, won't name names.
G'Morning.
Completely unrelated to honey's post but.......
Can I try to pull a fanboy/Lana kind of campaign over here? Will you be mad at me? I want my girl to be big too over here. She's better than everyone else because I like her. Plain and simple. Don't second guess it.
Here
Bed time. Bye y'all. Sorry for the mess, I'm in a trolling mood.
Dude, it's like the good ol' Country song. One would never expect Taylor Swift the Pop-est act on Mainstream Country scene to be THIS close to Traditional Country. If she released this and the radio ate it, all those Pop-Country acts will definitely packing their clothes and go back home to their hometown (where they were born, not the adopted Nashville ). Definitely the Country-est song I ever heard from the current crop of Nashville Country.

When I was listening to it the other day, i was thinking the exact same thing! This kind of music puts me in such a good mood

I agree with everything you said in 6,7 and 8. It is why I am so anxious about the lead single and have been driving myself crazy. If this era doesn't produce a Love Story or YBWM sized hit then she will perhaps survive but her career will stall out and need a major overhaul to continue past 30. Taylor seems to be making the right moves with the hiring of IMG and the people she has been rumored to be working with on co writes the only thing left to see is if the results pay off.
Award shows rigged or not gives an artist career momentum. It is one reason why you see older artists struggle to sell once they stop getting nominated or performing on award shows. Taylor burst unto the country music scene at 16 so she was always going to have a younger fanbase but the trick is keeping that younger fanbase while growing an older one. If she can't figure it out she will have no longevity. I like what Taylor has said about aging naturally and allowing her music to do the same without some big production a la a finally legal cover posing provocatively or other nonesense that feels forced.
I really like What do you say, but in terms of more traditional sounding country songs
Closest to a cowboy >>>>>>>>>>>>> Careers

Still my sistrens, if this monster got released during the Fearless era, we would have been witnessed possibly one of the biggest meltdown on Nashville Country history.

Sis. On the whole awards show and other media hype, I have two artists that I need you to check out: Jack White & Fiona Apple.
Oh well, I don't really care for how commercially successful an album actually is. As I've stated here many times, I stan for GOOD music, one and only. Many great albums stood the test of time without being certified multi-platinum at the actual time.
Will come back here later. I really need to sleep.
I actually want more country rock, country alternative. Lol. I don't know why i'm craving for those. Taylor, give me some Eyes Open, Enchanted and Better Than Revenge please. Country-folk will also be good.
And please Taylor, stop being too safe on your single choices. Release something new to the world for everyone's sake.

I agree with you that quality should always trump commercial viability. I am hoping that Taylor can manage both. Hopefully Taylor's music will meet the test that comes with the passage of time. Anyway sleep well.

To get a commercial success only needs great strategy (Example? Fearless & 21). But to create timeless album? Now that what makes one a legend.
Anyway, brother and daddy dragged me to go for an 18-holes game. Only slept for 15 minutes. kladnhhhhfkfndcjekslncfdffffffffffffffffffffffffff ff

I hope so too. Country has so many subcategories that I think would suit Taylor and it would be a mistake not to take risks on this album.

No
Im here for more country-rock/alternative. But not another eyes open, more along the lines of PTB or SSN. Id love if it was country pop, but not too much pop like it has been lately

Agree. As much as I loved Better Than Revenge, a Picture to Burn approach would be much better (love the banjos in the beginning of the bridge). But she's evolving so, in all honesty, I doubt her future music will ever be as country as the pre-Fearless/Mean songs (hopefully i'm wrong lol)

I think she can still evolve while being more country, not saying she needs to do regress but rather take her more country stuff and grow and evolve from there.

Good point. I just think that if she goes back to country, it would be different than what she's done before

Well, she will be asked about the album walking the TCAs red carpet. It's up to Taylor how much she reveals, but I think she'll definitely say something about it.
Today is Selena Gomez's 20th birthday, and she and Taylor will both be at the TCAs. Several other celebs Taylor is friends with will be there too; Zac Efron, Ellen, etc.
