I think the kpop industry and its beauty standards have had a lot of impact/is widespread outside of Korea, especially in SE asian and other E. asian countries. That's what I've heard, though.

I don't like Korean culture. I have bad experience with Korean men. They seem to be tight up and messy.

I once worked under a Korean boss and he's the worst kind of human being.

All he could do is YELLING, SNAGGING, SCREAMING at our faces eventhough we didn't do anything wrong.

And especially he seems N0T like to move on, his obsession and hatred are just sad.

i half agree with all of this. Korean Americans can be awful individuals especially the Korean Student Association at my school. I dont know why but the ones at my school have a superiority complex towards other asians especially the vietnamese students. and Korean gays in Korea can go either way. Ive met nice ones and then ive met ones that perpetuate the stereotype "bitchy catty gays" all too well. My korean teachers/professors have all been nice though.

i definitely think that the group of asians that ive had the most positive experiences with have been Vietnamese and Taiwanese. Japanese people are ok but they are overly nice to foreigners to the point where its uncomfortable and they kept saying everything to me in english despite the fact that they were struggling to form one sentence and i speak japanese fairly well to communicate.

I much rather prefer Koreans in Korea than Korean Americans though. i honestly thought the vetnamese students and korean students were going to go to war

Japanese - nice and polite but im not used to being around people who literally activate defcon 1 if they think they offended you. The Japanese are really sweet and i cant wait to go back. i just wish they gave me a chance to practice my japanese more instead of always trying to get me to speak english with them. I understand they want to practice their english too but i dont want to have a 30 minute conversation with someone on the street when all i asked was what station to take to get to Shibuya

Ugh the drunks in South Korea are the absolute worst. My school was in Sinchon which is basically the college area in Seoul and there are a lot of bars and clubs within the area. There are people throwing up on the street, stumbling everywhere, I was walking with two female friends and guys tried to pull them away into a bar to talk to them. Luckily men in Korea aren't very physically aggressive and the moment I yelled at them, half in English and half in Korean, they backed off immediately. Public intoxication in Korea is legal (I would have gotten arrested so many times if it wasn't) and drinking is apart of the culture so drunk assholes are tolerated by everyone. And it's usually older Korean men that have lost the ability to handle their alcohol that cause the most issues

Nnnnn in Vietnam, the straight guys come home and beat their wives and children when they're drunk. Not all the straight guys are like that but a lot of tragic mess happens because they sold their soul to alcohol.

oh, sometimes i feel unlucky because asian guys in the US only want to date white guys and it seems like asian guys in the east only want to date white guys.
