In a Q&A session with Bjorn's Live Music Lounge (recorded September 2, 2013, but posted on September 4), the "X Factor" judge talked about which artists she would like to collaborate with.
Demi is a fan of Kelly Clarkson. As she explained, "I still have yet to do a duet with Kelly Clarkson. I sang on stage with her, so I kind of did one, but I haven't recorded a song with her. I think that would be crazy amazing."
This is not the first time that Demi has spoken highly of the "American Idol" champion. In a March 25, 2013 interview with Parade Magazine, the "Heart Attack" singer talked about how Kelly was her role model growing up. "I didn't know her at the time, but it's Kelly Clarkson. I just thought she was a great role model. She was never publicly seen drinking and driving or wearing really scandalous clothes or anything like that. I feel like she set a really great example and she was extremely talented."
At Bjorn's Live Music Lounge, Demi also mentioned other artists she admired. "I would also love to do something with Ed Sheeran. He's my favorite artist in the world, besides Kelly Clarkson. But living or dead, maybe it wouldn't be work with her, maybe write with her because we sound totally different, would be Billie Holiday. I feel like I was her in a past life. I have this really weird emotional connection with her. And also John Lennon. I don't feel like I was him in a past life, but it would be really cool to meet him."
