Carrie's debut sold 7.2 million in the 2006-2008 sales climate. Mariah's best-seller in US has sold 7.8M in the 1995-1996 climate. You're a fool if you can't tell which album is bigger.
You also do realize Daughty's self-title is yet another album that sold nearly 7 MILLION in 2005-2007. Ofcourse it was also bigger than Mariah's albums that sold 7 million in the 90's.
Like you just want the list to be fake since your fave is a flop and it was exposed. Get over it. The list makes thorough sense if you research + stop living in the past boo.
Quote:
Speaking of flops, why were none of your other fave's (Bey's) albums on there, and how come 20/20 Experience made it on the list despite you labeling it a "forgotten, front loaded flop" a few days earlier while the allegedly hugely successful Born This Way was nowhere to be found?
Lols don't stan for Beyonce, therefore don't care. Also don't care that Born this Way isn't there / wasn't expecting it to be one of the biggest albums of all-time. Try again!
Carrie's debut is legitimately bigger than any Mariah or Madonna album though. Idk why you somehow thought that wasn't true.
If you actually looked up her stats you'd see why. It had an unbelievable run. Very few albums that have did that good this century.
You just think it looks outrageous obviously because you likely don't live in US, so Carrie is seen as a random nobody to you. However this is yet another time where ATRL is ignorant and wrong.
Let's not get carried away. Some Hearts saw only modest crossover success compared to other comparable country albums like Come On Over or Fearless. I wouldn't jump right out and claim it's bigger than any Madonna or Mariah album in the U.S., with such limited crossover success on radio to pop (when the primary genre of success was not pop).
