This was tough tbh but the overall theme of all the entries was the lack of personal touch.
Overall it wasn't bad, some stood out above others but there was no clear favorite.

However, it means something to you despite the fact. “I don't really think it's up to the song to be littered with meaning to be meaningful, but rather, it's up to the listener to decide what makes a song special to them.” That is so true! It’s special to you because it makes you happy and inspires you to create songs that could one day inspire and make others happy as well.

PS. Where's 'Get It Over With' on your last.fm chart there?

Now regarding the explanation itself, it was very...cute, but I think you could have gone a little bit more into details, after all it's your ultimate mega ultra favorite song of all time.

Just another person with a heart like mine; you simply cannot choose a favorite song of all time because there are multiple that mean so much. I appreciate the fact that you were open on the reasoning why you chose this for your entry. At first I was like, so you chose this song just to kiss up to ATRL? Then I kept reading the meaning went deeper. I felt the sincerity and this post shows that a favorite song doesn’t have to necessarily take you somewhere inside, but can be outside. Onika took you to ATRL to where you can be yourself and we’re happy to have you here.

Wow. At first, not going to lie, I was judging your choice before I clicked the collapse tag until I started reading. Then you cleared things up from the get-go and as I kept reading, I realized how much this song— albeit not your favorite of all time—had such an important impact. Definitely the best entry, imo. It's perfect.

Wait a second, I just started reading your entry and PRAISE H-I-M, it's not your favorite song. Even tho you probably could have chosen another of your "love the most" song, you get a pass with this one because it's the one that got you on ATRL and I totally get that feeling, even tho I can't really recall which Gaga song got me here. Probably Gay This Way.

Not going to lie, this entire entry reminded me of an episode of Glee. Look for the episode ‘Theatricality’, it was in Season One, well basically the assignment was Gaga. All the guys, except for Kurt since he is gay, didn’t want to do the assignment nor dress of in a Gaga-esque costume. It all really affects Finn and how “faggy” things are starting to become around him. Well, in the end, Kurt is picked on for wearing his Gaga costume around the halls, but Finn and the rest of the glee club back Kurt up all dressed in Gaga costumes. I know it’s not really related to your entry, but the theme parallels strongly. Gaga helped save you to be who you are, become more accepting to who you are, more powerful; and that is what the Gaga theme brought around in that episode. You should check it out, they sing “Bad Romance”.

So, first sentence in and I'm already coming across foolishness. I just had to google "ammature".
"Without this song I don't think i'd be who I am today"
Told you that this song is overrated as hell, this is just one example.
Overall that was a cute entry, but I feel like you're overrating the song and Gaga a bit too much. I mean I'm sure you'd be the same had Gaga not happened, you'd simply have found another artist to "define" who you are today.

Joking aside I liked your explanation of how it relates to your life but I feel like you kept repeating "just a cute country pop song" too much which was making me feel like, so what's so great about it? I think if you're going to share something personal like that, you should focus on that, would have been nice to hear some more detail.

First off, you’re not gay? I know it’s probably tiring hearing that question, trust me I know, but when ATRL is mostly full with gay men, having a straight male is like seeing water in the desert. Second off, your girl friend (see the space) kept flirting with guys after you told her your feelings for her? She’s not worth it. You can find another girl who will appreciate you for you. You can still be friends, but that was the ultimate friend zone move. Once again, trust me. Things could always change though. *plays Ellie’s Anything Could Happen*. Third off, you’re little disclaimer about the song itself kind of threw off your entry. It was like you were trying to apologize for presenting to us Taylor Swift and one of her more pop country songs. This about you, so we don’t care. If it’s your favorite, it is your favorite, no other disclaimer is needed. Last off, Taylor is a relatable song writer, so a lot of her songs can hit close to home.

Aside from it being a bop, the song has a bit of a bittersweet effect to it for you. It narrates and illustrates a pretty bumming circumstance you've been through, yet doesn't deter from producing a good-spirited feeling at the same time.

Sorry couldn't help it, your username reminded me of my most played song this year so far, Do What U Want (Steven Redant Barcelona Club Remix). Make sure to buy it on iTunes, Joanne could use some extra sales.
Now back to business, the whole "I know that the song isn't blablabla" was very cute but also shows your lack of confidence, that it most likely due to your young age.
Try next time to come harder at us, with your head hold up (like Gaga sang in BTW) and just convince us why the song is the best thing ever !!!
Oh and another thing, that third reason felt like it was just there for the sake of being there. Gave me Rihanna album fillers vibes

Thirdly, lol at you being born to this song when I was already like 8 bopping away. The song itself isn't anything super meaningful but your explanation felt genuine and I can definitely see why you love it.

My comments here are going to be pretty shorter compared to the previous four and the reason why, there isn’t much there to speak about. That isn’t a good thing in this case. You described why Spice Up Your Life is your favorite song, fantastic, you did the job of the challenge. Here is the thing though, when the song is your favorite it has the ability to resonate with you in some way. You described the feeling of it NOW, but what about the back story. Do you remember the first time you heard it and how’d it make you feel. Did it change your mood then? What became that catapult to making this your favorite song? We don’t need a Diary detail, but at least more meat as to why. Right now you’re serving us bread with the possible options to deck out our sandwich/burger, but not providing the meat. Or vegan meat, I don’t discriminate. ****, now I’m hungry.

Okay, I guess this a more than fitting time to inquire: How come the Spice Girls stanning has only come into fruition recently? Considering how hard you go for them, I wonder why this wasn't a thing from the get go when you became a member. It's all coming out of the nowhere to me the last couple of months. Is this like a synonymous thing to ground an identity? :eyes:

I think your entry was good but not great. You didn’t talk about yourself a lot just mainly about the song but even then you put most of the adjectives in one sentence and let it go. Still, it’s good.

Let me start off your comments by demanding names. I want to know of the person or people who were trying to convince you to choose another song for your entry. I know the saying ‘snitches get stitches’, but the person or people who tried to get you to the change the song choice are going to get stitches. I’m glad and proud of you for staying true to your heart and sticking with this song despite what people say. This is YOUR favorite song, not theirs. There should be no outside influence being used just to possibly cater to the judges. Now back to your actual entry, you are suffering from basically the same reason as Posh was suffering. There is not a lot of meat to this entry. You express your excitement, your love for the song, and briefly talk about kind of what the production and vocals mean to you; but I wanted more. Like I said with posh, we don’t need a Diary detail of information as to why, but at least something more to dive into than dipping our toes in the water.

Luckily by the time I was done reading your entry, my opinion had changed a bit. It's not best song ever material, lettuce be honest, but it definitely has more potential than some of the songs I've come across in the other entries.
