The song begins with the sound of a storm with the predominant sound of thunder and rain. All of a sudden we hear footsteps and then the sound of Kills shouting and the sound of brawling (All while the storm continues). A glass breaks.
Immediately, the sound of breaking glass is heard, a thumping beat begins to play. We hear Kills singing about this love she found that was destructive yet all consuming and she still wants to be a part of. The first verse is generally Kills explaining the love they shared while singing words like "Chardonnay, baby..we had it on a daily".
We then hear the sound of a heavy bass and Kills sings the 4 anthemic lines of the chorus:
"Boy here we are again
One room and we're both insane
We're going to do this till we die
And still ride in the black sky"
Kills quickly enters the second verse which explains how she tries to run from this murderous love and how "Johnny" drags her by her "black hair" and traps her in his bedroom.
This explanation is followed once again by the heavy bass and Kills singing the chorus in the anthemic power melody that it is.
There is a beat break after this chorus and Jeff Bhasker shows his impressive production skills with heavy percussion and the sound of a screaming guitar.
We then hear Kills do a stripped down version of the chorus over an acoustic guitar and then delve right back into the powerful force that is the Black Sky Chorus.
She ends this song with the haunting lines:
"I might run away
I might leave today
But one thing's for sure
I'm always coming right back"
