A leak cannibalizes sales because people will download it and then listen to it 100 times and by then, they have no desire to purchase it on iTunes. Also, they usually make-up their mind as to whether or not to buy it after listening, whereas, when it's out on iTunes officially without a leak, they just buy it immediately out of instinct and desire. Plus, it kills potential streaming on YT, last.fm, & Spotify because people will be listening to it through many unofficial sources that don't count towards Hot 100 streaming points.

I agree with this but they should have made the premiere on iTunes at midnight Monday but 5 hours between the premiere and iTunes release shouldn't hurt too much.
