The wind machines
Hyuna's long hair
The live belting (most of the time)
The choreography
The costumes
The backup dancers
The pyrotechnics
The sets were mostly basic, but the MV more than made up for that. And besides - the song was good enough that it didn't need over the top sets while being performed
Don't let the quality of the song fool you
The choreo was basic. They had a lot of tragic outfits. And the performances were boring
If IIP were released on a Monday like WDT was, it'd've been #1, too.

It's a cute song and all, but I feel like I've seen/heard it before. Congrats on the #1 though, I ain't a hater
I think the "new style" rollout where they released the song Sunday night/Monday morning, then showed up on a stage at Lotte World like they were doing a university festival, then waited a few more days before the music shows and whatnot, kinda watered down the impact. And the Brave Sound perception within 4nia land also blurred the reality that WDT is actually a very 4minute-ish song.
But they got that #1, which should make Cube's new owners happy.
As for their perfs, I think they've been mostly above average. There have been some logistical curiosities -- like most of last week's music show perfs were recorded at 8am or earlier. Fortunately, Jihyun ended up being the only serious casualty of that unhealthy schedule. Uh, I meant, unfortunately.
Hopefully this week will be a little more sane. Here's a guerrilla they did for KBS, I think:
Not when a (mostly) mimed, basic rehearsal is still engaging and fun to watch
The choreo was great. Most of the outfits were/are better than their actual tragic ones
A song about pumping the volume up is clubby sis

Do not let your love for Volume Up and your dislike for their other songs blind you from the truth. Volume Up & WYN? easily had their worst performances, vocals, and charisma
Whatcha Doin' Today although not as good is waaaay more entertaining. And the MV is easily one of their best.
Please anticipate T-ARA 23's debut. Danni-unni, her Bangerz era is upon us
Will this song/release/whatever get lost or be released already!? It's been looming over us for years now. I feel like "new" pictures or snippets get released at the most random times, on the most random platforms and nobody is ever here for it. The time has passed KKS, let it go!

I'm not even sure it's happening at this point cos the guy who "manages" them in America was first saying it was happening in March and then when a fan mentioned they had a Japanese single coming out that month he didn't believe them and asked for a source so they probably aren't even communicating with CCM lol. Then he said April/May or during the summer but with the Hyomin/Jiyeon solos and then their third Japanese album in May (and probably another Japanese tour to support the album during the summer) I don't see it coming any time soon

Do not let Hyuna in hot pants, or PSY's influence on Hyuna/What's Your Name? blind you from the truth
The MV is a lot of style over substance. The light stick part is nice and some other bits ARE good/fun, but most feel really reductive and like leftovers they took from Ice Cream, Gangnam Style and WYN, much like this song. I remember when they announced the title track was them going back to Brave Brothers, people complained and I didn't get why. Now I do
Something different would be nice. Maybe that's why Volume Up appeals to me so much right now? It's not the typical mish-mash of neon, bright, shiny print clothes that don't go together, Hyuna being expectedly sexier than the rest, set in a club/full of random zombies/something else "wild" or unexplainable and full of Kang Dong Chul vocals

Decent. Gayoon was into it.
I wasn't even aware they had a new release setup, but I didn't like the Monday release. it did feel a little odd tbh, not as odd as GG releasing IGAB on New Year's Day, but whatever
I do like the song, it's a cute little bop, but given the exposure they've gotten, they were riding off their first number one, they obviously had a bigger budget, I dunno, I expected more. Something a bit fresher, fiercer? What's Your Name packed more of a punch. This is like demo #3 for the re-package last year, based off WYN's success.
- poor Jihyun. Without ha, who can sing?
Let me analyse this performance, maybe it'll pique my interest. Or yano, actually start it

They still have a "manager" in America....?
This is still getting a release...?
With a 15 year old in the group...?

This would have been a nice HyunA comeback tbh
But yeah, after this, NO Brave Bros is a must for that. It was either, or...
Watch it be featuring PSY, produced by Brave Bros and features HyunA [wearing black fitted latex] driving over zombies in an ice cream truck, with a toilet as her driving seat
(what i meant to say is that no, i don't see it ever being released or at least i hope not. i'm probably the biggest t-ara stan but i pray ever night it won't happen. i wouldn't mind another N4 release as long as they stayed in korea tho)
As much as I like WAYDT?, I agree with Slaying that I feel 4MINUTE has really just played it safe. The influence of WYN, Hyuna's solo career and Psy are totally all in the video and it's just boring at this point. I do hope they stay away from Brave Brothers for their next comeback.
Worried about Hyomin's solo now since he's produced it.

Like.. the song is called Countryside Life. How CCM ever equated that to Chris Brown, Wiz and a US urband release totally boggles my mind. Even more so, on just how hell bent he seems to be on getting it out...
SMH. A complete trainwreck. Even Rania knew to back away from the US

Juyeon's just been cast in a new drama, UEE still doing hers, Nana getting more solo coins... good grief. I smell new member debut soon with more girls getting busier with their solo activities. E-Young better prepare to snatch some lines before they give them to Kaeun.

Yeah, not to be overkill about this, but you got me in saying they played it safe/it's now boring. The visuals, Brave Bros... it's all expected. Why listen to/watch a second (third if you wanna count Ice Cream) rate imitation when I can play the real McCoy??
A shortened remix that happened 8 months after the release of the song?? indeed
The stage was really nice though, thanks for linking that

PLEDIS really need to get their ish together. I'm serious now. Like no new members, they can't even find roles for their newest ones. The past members lines differ each performance. The line distribution if fairer in AKB48
Like, enough already. Release a damn Korean comeback, use the members you have and stop with all this extra. I appreciate Dress To Kill, but I'd much rather them focus on Korea. They're not exactly in the best shape there and more flops to their belt is not helping them
