countdown<re.wind>
august 26-september 1, 2012
As the calendar turned to September in the year the world was supposed to end, Gotye and Kimbra's four-time countdown champion "Somebody That I Used To Know" slipped out of the countdown's top 20 for the first time in a record 31 weeks. That song wasn't the only one with an impressive one, as Carly Rae Jepsen's defining "Call Me Maybe" reaches its 20th week in the top 20, and Ellie Goulding's "Lights" spending it's 24th week inside the countdown's top 20. Meanwhile, Demi Lovato breaks out in a big way with "Give Your Heart a Break," the same week she competes for the #1 spot with "Cool For The Summer."

Sound Check | August 30 - September 6, 2015
For the week beginning August 30, 2015
Click on the screen-cap of the video to play the video.
Selena Gomez must be feeling good after scoring her first #1 video on the Sound Check Top 20 with her summer hit "Good For You" featuring A$AP Rocky. On this week's countdown, she has two fend off not one, but two iterations of the Weeknd, and during the week following the release of his hotly-anticipated album Beauty Behind The Madness. Will "Can't Feel My Face" be able to light up the countdown for a fourth week, or can "The Hills" become Abel Tesfaye's third #1 video of 2015? Major Lazer and Demi Lovato have been plotting their ascension for some time, too. Will "Lean On" get back to #1 eight weeks after it last occupied that position, or can Demi Lovato follow Selena Gomez and score her first #1 video with "Cool For The Summer"?
Exiting the countdown this week are Tori Kelly, Carly Rae Jepsen, Jidenna and X Ambassadors. Two artists return while another two debut in taking the departing artists' place on the countdown. Find out who they are by checking out the countdown below.
