I thought Guns Shot was gonna have more island flavor. I don't understand her rapping like that over that kind of beat that sounds so pop. Definitely can't imagine what Beenie Man's part will sound like.

Honestly.

The snippets are magic; a plethora of potentially great tracks. Though, by the latter part of the record, it's like Groundhog Day. Nevertheless, this is one release I'm definitely anticipating.

Honestly, my love for the Pop half has dwindled already since the snippets leaked this morning.

I'd find it more interesting if every song didn't sound the same. Well, all the dance-y ones sound the same. She could have looked through different aspects of Pop music on the second half; keep Starships and Turn Me on (I'm saying these just because we had the full songs for a while), just as her dance songs. Young Forever and Marilyn Monroe could be the pop ballads, she could have some Pop/Rock material, and some urban Pop bangers (eg Breakin Dishes by Rihanna). I'm just a little disappointed in how similar a lot of the Pop tracks sound, especially since they are all generic.

TBH, i have a feeling this album might be a bit forgettable because of the pop songs. i really like the Red One tracks but they're disposable & sound the same. any artist can make songs like that, there's nothing special about them. Beautiful Sinner, Fire Burns, & Gun Shot i just can't get into. they sound so basic & boring. & well, Turn Me On it just doesn't belong. I wish the pop songs sounded more like VVV cause she's still really rapping on the verses & it just sounds good & it's what makes Nicki unique. I still like almost all of the snippets though. idk, my mind will probably change once i listen to the album entirely, but thats how i feel right now.

I think the opposite, I think this era will be pretty memorable because of the Pop songs. Yes, they are generic, disposable, and forgettable individually, but as a whole they should produce a massive era that really cement Nicki's status as a star, like what Teenage Dream did for Katy. I agree, it's like Hip-Pop is Nicki's niche, and although the album as a whole can be considered Hip-Pop, the songs are anything but. I also agree that I'll love the songs when I hear them in full. It's just what I'm feeling right now.
