The Navy had a similar meltdown when Rih kept singing Diamonds EVERYWHERE until right before the Grammy's back in the Una era so these meltdowns are not a shock.
I'm not going to jump the gun because in the end Rihanna always delivers. We complained about no promo but she performed at the Grammys and got the song to really take off. We complained about Spotify and then she put FFS on there. We said we wanted Quality this time around and that is what she's giving us.
Anybody who has been a fan since GGGB or Rated R should know the response to Rihanna's music when it's not the typical Pop Bops is ALWAYS slower and less immediate. Russian Roulette, California King Bed, Rehab, hell even Diamonds had a slower start . You guys are getting caught up in the chart performance that you can't even truly ENJOY the music. Let Rihanna and her team worry about the charts(or not).
I trust her, and I know things will work out, she has a plan. Although not performing at the Brits wasn't the smartest decision.
I'm not sure what's going on, but all this "secrecy" is a bit jarring. I know Rih said "little by little" and I trust that her and her team know what they are doing. "Home" is around the corner, so she's going to be doing promo soon.
If TTS was taking off it would dwarf FFS easily. She's never had her first and second singles both taking off at the same time so TTS's performance is no shock. The song will most likely begin to slowly build on radio as FFS gains more traction towards its true peak. Once the song begins to fade and when Home comes out the song will most likely catapult.

I agree with this. I don't think FFS has reached it's true potential and it could be one of Rih's signature songs.
TTS is begging to performed somewhere like the Oscars with a orchestra and choir. It's anthemic and deserves all of the glory.
I don't think we are getting anymore new songs for a while as singles Home will have been released by the time a month has passed. I mean all she really needs is to perform Both songs on a promo slot and she'll be fine. Even if she didn't do that FFS has already surpassed her weakest performing lead single by a mile and will most likely do better than PDR/SOS also. I don't see the issue. I can name a few Pop Girl era's that slayed without the aid of a number one song as a lead single. A hit is a hit either way.
And if this era sells on par with Loud with several top 10's and no number one id gladly take that since she's with legends already when it comes to number one singles.

The upcoming "lead single" will do worse than FFS. Bookmark this.
They have to music the current song some more, It has potential left.
The upcoming lead single will probably be promoted / performed a lot (as much as WFL & Diamonds) so I'm not worried, especially if it happens to be "A Night".

That's what made me appreciate her, she's always trying to go in a different direction and improve or vary her sound and a lot of pop stars don't do it with as much success as Rihanna has seen.
