How depressing is it that "***'s" 'flop' lead single from an album that BOMBED has fared better on iTunes (and most likely Billboard) than Applause?

Fun fact: Die Young was #2 on iTunes in less than 24 hours as well (it also went #1 for a brief few hours, something applause most likely wont accomplish)

This is getting out of hand

"Burqa" gave me "Bad Romance" vibes. All she needed to do was tweak the annoying verses and add some drums to the chorus to make it even more catchy. "Applause" is so stupid until the chorus hits. Even the "I live for the Applause Applause" parts annoy me She sounds like Ru Paul "Roar" is underwelming too, but I do like the pre-chorus and the background "HEY!" ad-libs that Katy does in some of her songs (California Gurls).

I really thought that Katy and Gaga would dominate at the same time.

Then again, there can only be one at #1

'Applause' might not be groundbreaking but it's pop at it's best: instant, euphoric, joyful and impossible to get out of your head, which has made us all the more excited about the forthcoming album, 'Artpop'.
