I disagree almost entirely. Mariah has had a difficult past and continues to have difficulty even today especially since the release of her last album. She lost her dear friend Whitney, her husband has had several health scares, she had a miscarriage and a difficult pregnancy carrying twins, she broke her shoulders and was told she would never have full facility of it plus she's truly in love. If she cannot draw inspiration from this, or if this seems like a detachment from the real world, I really don't know what else she can do.
Mariah is a
real person. Forget the image, forget the ensembles, forget her babbling and being a diva. Deep behind all of this are her insecurities which she has openly admitted several times. What other female artist is out there admitting that they are insecure? What other artist is out there saying that it is music that saved their life? Let's not become caught up in the headlines.
