The Asian queen has done her job for this uphill battle and I will rally behind her, as an Asian native myself, it is long overdue that we have someone to represent our race

THR said that the Academy members are complaining about too many movies coming out late and not having time to watch them all; so that only gives boost to frontrunners like La La Land that everyone will check out before the deadline due to the hype

Julianne Moore deserved that award over Rosamund Pike and there's no doubt about that. The fact that she won for a movie that didn't even get a nomination in other categories screams UNDENIABLE to me.

Cinephile tends to go with the foreign-language performances so yes I am not surprised Cotillad got their support, same thing happens this year with Isabella.
Isabelle is getting lots of press and lots of meet Isabelle huppert articles etc. The more I think about it the more I want her to win tbh.

So instead he set the film in France and asked 63-year-old Huppert to play the role.
The veteran Dutch-born maker of “Basic Instinct” and “Total Recall” described Huppert as “the most fantastic actor I’ve ever worked with, on a level that I did not know existed”.
