Also, the radio only "FEEDS" us with what we like hence the use of callout scores. So all the music we really like gets airplay and becomes a hit, not the other way around. Although radio can propel a song to the public's attention it won't go far if it's not liked.
I feel great because I genuinely like Katy Perry and bubbly music and there's honestly nothing wrong with that.

Not this taste being subjective ******** again...
I think it's more like what the radio broadcaster wants you to hear. This is why some stations don't play songs that stay long enough in the top 10 to be noticed. They don't like the artist, song, the message its trying to spread, etc. Also, the easier the song, like Roar, the bigger the airplay it will receive. Why? Because its easy to digest. Everything is ****ing easy about it. This is one of the big reasons why radio keeps getting shittier by the day. We're so obsessed with quick and fast singles, it's basically becoming the death of mainstream music imo. Know this, there were times when every song on the radio was on the level of Bad Romance and **** that, even higher.
Radio keeps people stupid qua music. That's my final answer.
