Yeezus may have been praised by music critics but it was a commercial failure. Kanye himself noted that and said he wants to get back on radio when he did his album preview in LA. He is doing all these songs and awards shows to get himself back in good graces with the GP/ consumers. He needs a hit song.

His album will likely come out before Rih's and not to mention he doesn't have a soundtrack coming out next month Rihanna does. It would be silly for her to do all this press and performances when she has another project to work on.

I genuinely believe after HOME comes out the soundtrack gets released everything regarding R8 will be made public knowledge and things will be clearer. Trying to juggle both will be a disaster.

Edit: Yeah she should clarify everything but lets be real she not gonna speak on R8 until its ready to be released.

I totally get what you're saying Bajan but I just think it was incredibly stupid for her to start the R8 era only to completely abandon it after 2 weeks and focus on another project. They should've just let HOME do it's thing and then start the R8 era. But even now, she can continue the R8 era without doing physical promo. She could spend the rest of March, revealing details about R8 on social media without releasing another track or promoting/performing anything else from the album....still allowing her to put her energy in promoting HOME for the month of March. I just think it's a really bad idea to think you can abandon an era and 'come back' to it. When people lose intereste in your music/era, it's EXTREMELY hard to reignite things.

Announce the 2nd single 1 week before hand, give a sneak peak, lyric video, big budget video, multiple performances/interviews etc. If they come back to the R8 era and lay an egg with the promo and treat it like they've treated FFS, she's gonna seriously flop!

I'm not really comparing simply saying that light promo is possible. She could simply call Ryan from her bed or even call some UK stations from her LA house and performing at 2 awards show in one month isn't that much nor demanding anyways I'll simply add that Rihanna teams and herself are making **** more complicated and confusing for nothing and she's not reaching her full potential for stupid reason and that's that. :coffed2: and she's attending the KCA... no words on if she's performing.

I thought she was going to run out of the gate PUNCHING with the lead single. I thought it was all going to be about power and making a grand entrance. Multi-format. Loud. Big. Kind of like "A Night" I guess.

Instead, we got FFS which is essentially the exact opposite of what I was expecting. However, I really like (maybe even love...) FFS so I was fine with it, plus I loved that she did something unexpected. Then she released a chill video for it, which I understand to an extent. But if you're going to do these things then you need to work overtime to get the GP hyped for it. Or at least put forth a full effort.

It's just crazy to me how she is wasting the slight buzz from the music world/GP regarding her return a huge record that let people know "RIHANNA IS BACK!", with a similar promo plan to what you mentioned, would've been completely fine.

Agreed. I'm waiting for her to put her face out here for the movie. I get not wanting to go all out for her own music but for the movie, I'm excepting more than one performance and 1 or 2 interviews etc. She needs to go represent Tip for the black girls .
