I thought she was going to run out of the gate PUNCHING with the lead single. I thought it was all going to be about power and making a grand entrance. Multi-format. Loud. Big. Kind of like "A Night" I guess.
Instead, we got FFS which is essentially the exact opposite of what I was expecting. However, I really like (maybe even love...) FFS so I was fine with it, plus I loved that she did something unexpected. Then she released a chill video for it, which I understand to an extent. But if you're going to do these things then you need to work overtime to get the GP hyped for it. Or at least put forth a full effort.
It's just crazy to me how she is wasting the slight buzz from the music world/GP regarding her return

a huge record that let people know "RIHANNA IS BACK!", with a similar promo plan to what you mentioned, would've been completely fine.
I just don't understand

maybe she gives no ****s about success anymore, but if that's the case then give me a free mixtape and stop being so secretive
Part of me still thinks that "A Night" will be the song to reunite the Navy and make sense of all these shenanigans, but she is so messy for entering the HOME era a month after her lead single was released. Just smh.
