I had always liked Rihanna, I liked
"Pon De Replay" and then I never heard anything from her again, until my mum bought
A Girl Like Me and blasted all the songs in the car, especially
"SOS" and
"Unfaithful". Good times.
Then
"Umbrella" came out and I liked it, and it wasn't until 2008 that my mum again bought
Good Girl Gone Bad (standard edition) and we would blast
"Don't Stop the Music" and
"Breakin' Dishes" over and over again! This really started to solidify me liking Rihanna.
Then I heard
"Disturbia" sometime later. OMG. I fell in LOVE! Best Rihanna song I had heard, and it was the point where Rihanna was one of my favourite artists.
Then I didn't hear much from Rih, and one day I was in my room and mum came in and she was like "Apparently Chris Brown beat up Rihanna, its all over the radio and the radio is refusing to play Chris Brown's songs!" And at the time (I was 14) I didn't know how severe this was. So I was just like "Oh no, thats not good!" and I didn't think much about it.
Then someone asked me at school who my "celebrity crush" was, and after thinking about it, I thought my celeb crush was Rihanna, and at that moment in time I thought "when is Rihanna releasing a new album?"
So I went on the internet and saw that Rihanna was releasing a new album named
Rated R and so I went to my local music shop and pre-ordered it. (What a great purchase

)
In the lead up to
Rated R, I had put the
A Girl Like Me and
Good Girl Gone Bad albums on my iPod, and I came to love nearly all the songs on those two albums... I was getting so excited for
Rated R!
And then the music shop called me a day before
Rated R's release date in Australia, saying that they had shipments in already I could pick it up (one of the best moments in my life).
And so I rushed home and put it on my iPod and started blasting it. I instantly fell in love with
"Mad House",
"Russian Roulette" (as I was already familiar with the song, it was one of my faves),
"Te Amo" and
"Hard"...
...and a stan was born.
Of course it doesn't say when I bought
Music of the Sun (mid-2010) and hearing the premiere of
"Only Girl (In the World)" and also hearing
Loud for the first time, but you guys should know that I loved it all!
