The more often I think about it, the more I believe that Ke$ha is this generation's Cyndi Lauper.
And I don't want her to, because I'd love to see her be successful for a little bit longer before she goes the Cyndi Lauper route of being very respected these days, but not being able to reach a large audience anymore. Coming out of rehab and assuming that she'll really break bonds with Dr. Luke and Kemosabe, she might move into a completely different musical direction. I would love that almost regardless of what it's going to be because she has dabbled in many genres in the past and at least made me LIKE all of it. But it could mean a sharp decline in marketability and simply in commercial success, again depending on what exactly this new music is and sounds like. And I think that would be sad, because I really want her to redeem herself with the GP to a degree where I can say to myself: "Finally she got some respect and most people see her for who she is". She'll only be able to do this if she has a large enough stage to reach the GP.
