If we'd seen her act in other roles-- rather than her serious acting debut (and not 30 second cameos in campy films) being a 13-episode series for one of the biggest TV shows on television-- this might be less of a fear.

Yes. She's in the main cast. So she's going to be in at least 10 episodes (But Michael Chiklis & Frances Conroy kinda proved the 10 episode minimum for main cast wrong last season). I'm betting she'll be in all 13.

Jessica Lange was recently interviewed by the Daily Beast in which she was asked how she felt about Lady Gaga leading American Horror Story: Hotel. Read below!

The new season is about to start filming and the lead torch is being passed to Lady Gaga. You were asked about it at the Paley Center panel, how you felt about her taking over, and people were trying to read into what you were saying by what you were not saying.

What did I say? I don’t remember.

You didn’t say much…

The question was, now that she was going to do it would I be interested in coming back to work with her or something.

Which was an interesting way to phrase that question.

It was a near-impossible question to answer. It reminded me of what Gertrude Stein supposedly said on her death bed. When she said, “What is the answer? For that matter what is the question?” That’s how I felt. What is the question?

So the more clear question would be: how do you feel about her leading the show in your absence?

She’ll be surrounded by all those great actors. The same ones I had the great opportunity to work with. I have no idea if she’s an actor or not. But I’m sure it will all work out. I don’t know what the season is, what they’re doing, what the premise is, who the characters are. But all I can say is she’s going to have good writing and she’s going to have great actors to work with. It’s a good start.

Lange probably doesn't like the fact that casting Gaga as a lead feels like (and obviously is) a publicity stunt. I'm sure it's nothing personal towards Gaga, maybe she's against non-actors taking jobs from actual actors.

No one knows if Gaga is a great actress and no one says she's. In fact, we're all pretty much waiting on AHS to decide

That would be shady if Gaga was an actual actress that has real experience but in fact Gaga is not an actress so Jessica didn't lie and did not show any signs of not liking her or underappreciating her talent, since Gaga only showcased her acting talent in 5 minuntes total in her whole acting career.
