It's cool to see someone outselling the peak of album sales when sales are in such a huge recession, but this isn't something that's literally going to be taught in history classes at schools or passed down from generation to generation. It's just a cool achievement for Adele. Congrats to her.

Please don't be that naive. It really is history. Otherwise why would people still celebrate phenomenal artists like Whitney, Michael Jackson, Elvis and the like. History classes may not cover music necessarily but achievements like this are once in a generation. It's something you'll never see again.

900,000 is day one.... if going by the ~500k pre-orders, that means ~400k in day one w/o pre-orders. Meaning she just needs 218k more sold through iTunes in the next 34 hours.

The 900k isn't weeks of pre-order plus 7 days. It's 1 day.

Who cares if it's preordered? You aren't charged for the album until it's released so it's purchased on album release day. Also, these people would have purchased the album anyways even if there was no preorder
