- This song finished at last year's #8, and now this year's #100. After the band split up in 2008, this song continued it's success on my chart in late 2008 when it re-entered the charts. It continued into 2009 sticking around for an extra 2 months. This song made a huge impact on 2008 for me, and still has the same impact on me, 1 year on. I will always have fond memories of the band, especially after listening to this R&B gold. This is the only song by Danity Kane in the chart.
Last Year's 100: "Beat It" by Fall Out Boy feat. John Mayer
99. David Guetta ft. Kelly Rowland - "When Love Takes Over" (196 points)
- David Guetta is a superstar DJ, who's had huge success all around the World, especially in his Homeland of France. But in 2009, he's had a huge year, releasing his fourth studio album, One Love in the Summer. The first single, When Love Takes Over, became a huge hit all around the World, becoming a number one hit in the UK, Ireland, Switzerland, Italy, Belgium, and Turkey. The single managed to reach #16 in my charts, but had a quick decline on the charts, but still it manages to reach the Top 100. This is one of two songs by David Guetta in the chart, and the only song by Kelly Rowland in the chart.
Last Year's 99: "Daylight" by Kelly Rowland feat. Travis McCoy
98. Kings of Leon - "Revelry" (201 points)
- Kings of Leon, where do you start. Only By the Night has put the Nashville born band into mainstream success, but this wasn't the song that broke them into Worldwide success. After two previous hits, Revelry was chosen as the third single from OBTN. I love Revelry very much. The riffs, and Caleb's voice is outstanding in this single, and underperformed so much Worldwide, and I really don't know why. This song is absolutely perfect. This is two of three songs by Kings of Leon in the chart.
Last Year's 98: "Psycho Teddy" by Psycho Teddy
97. Alexander Rybak - "Fairytale" (201 points)
- I watch EuroVision every May, just to see what Europe has for us next. In 2009, Norway were crowned EuroVision 2009 winners, with this violin fashioned track. I didn't think I'd like it as much as I did, but I really loved it. Probably my favourite EuroVision song (outside of the UK) ever. I liked it so much, that it managed to peak within the Top 10, peaking at #7. This is the only song by Alexander Rybak in the chart.
Last Year's 97: "Now You're Gone" by Basshunter
96. Kelly Clarkson - "I Do Not Hook Up" (208 points)
- Kelly will never live up to such an album as Breakaway, but she tried, and succeeded with All I Ever Wanted. "I Do Not Hook Up" was released as the second track from her fourth album, and managed to become a Top 25 hit on my chart, that stuck around for 10 weeks, just missing out on a Gold Certification. This is two of three songs by Kelly Clarkson in the chart.
Last Year's 96: "Shattered (Turn the Car Around)" by O.A.R.
95. Gossip - "Heavy Cross" (212 points)
- The Beth Ditto fronted band were a big success in my chart back in 2007, having a huge Top 10 hit with "Standing In the Way of Control". "Heavy Cross" was released as the lead track from their 4th album, Music For Men. With Beth's amazing vocals, and the echo-ey rock anthem grinding into your head, and sticking their forever to come! It's a shame it only got to #95, but it did only peak at #17, oh well, maybe next year. This is the only song by Gossip in the chart.
Last Year's 95: "Black and Gold" by Sam Sparro
94. Taio Cruz - "Break Your Heart" (215 points)
- Taio Cruz has finally gotten his first number one in the UK, and this definitely deserved it. Whatt a great song it truly is! I thought the lyrics were a little vain, I'm only gonna break, break, break your heart - obviously thinks a lot of himself. But despite all that, the song was killer, with an amazing beat that you just want to dance to. This is the only song by Taio Cruz in the chart.
Last Year's 94: "Magic" by Robin Thicke
93. Kid Cudi ft. Kanye West & Common - "Make Her Say" (216 points)
- This is the song, that truly made me appreciate and pay attention to Cudi's music. I loved Day n Nite, but ofcourse I had only heard the remix, and I didn't think it truly showed his true potential as an artist, but this song really did. With an amazing sample of Lady GaGa's acoustic version of "Poker Face", the song was overplayed by me, over a period of 3 weeks, managing to become a Top 20 song on my chart. This is one of two songs by Kid Cudi in the chart, this is three of five songs by Kanye West in the chart, and this is the only song by Common in the chart.
Last Year's 93: "Say (All I Need)" by OneRepublic
92. Linkin Park - "New Divide" (219 points)
- This was definitely a grower for me! Becoming the soundtrack to the second instalment of the Transformers saga, I tried it immediately but I never liked it. Then as the song started picking up impact in the charts Worldwide, I started to like it, and it eventually entered the chart, peaking within in the Top 20 of the charts. It's not their strongest single, but I still enjoyed it. This is the only song by Linkin Park in the chart.
Last Year's 92: "Sun Goes Down" by David Jordan
91. Timbaland ft. SoShy - "Morning After Dark" (235 points)
- I was extremely excited for Timbaland's second album, but to be honest, I think everyone can join me in saying the album and lead single were a huge disappointment compared to his first album. But never the less, it was still an extremely catchy song, peaking at #11 in my charts, where it is still currently sitting pretty. This is the last song by Timbaland in the chart, and the only song by SoShy in the chart.
