okay, i've been a silent reader a whole time in this thread, now i want to give my opinion of the show
At first i saw the trailer, i feel so excited because of the sci-fi similar with heroes teas. i really like this kind of show. sci-fi but the setting in real life
then i watched the show. i agree the first episodes was kinda slow. but what do you expect, you have 8 lead character that their stories need to be explained much. (just like Game of Thrones) And they really keeping up the pace until the last episode. and i really satisfied with this series. One of my favorite recently and i guess it turns to be an obsessed right now
Really love all the casts, and just like what you said, it's kinda rare to love every lead actors/actress especially this show have 8 ensemble casts. that's so many
And about that lgbt agenda or something, fu*k that bullsh*t. i am not gay, but i still find this show cool. yeah there are some lgbt scenes (edit: more than some) here, but in the year of 2015, still expecting a regular storyline and afraid to talk about these community? nonsense. almost most modern series at least have 1 lgbt character, and it's not make those series sucks or something like that.
and if people said the series disturbing because of this, you can fast forward the scene, that simple. not whining and said this show is garbage and have lgbt bla bla. i'm really proud that i am that open minded

if i have to rank, this is my ranking.
1. Sun (Damn, i love her last scene when will must fight 4 people
she is bad ass
2. Nomi (love her journey, she is also really smart)
3. Wolfgang (He is such a cold blooded man. i adore him
)
4. Lito (his storyline is interesting especially because of 2 other great supporting casts, and his scene in the episode 12 make him moves up to this spot
)
5. Will (moves down because he will screw up all sensates since he made an eye contact with whispers
but his character is great)
6. Capheus (Actually i love his storyline, and the scene that he fight was great, but the casts are too good so he ended only at no, 6
)
7. Riley (love her as a person but her storyline was so dark
but i guess she will moves up in the second season)
8. Kala (my least favorite storyline. But i like her as a person, and i love her relationship with wolfgang
)
And we have to wait season 2 next year?
overall, recommended show. little bit have to be patient but the last episodes are so worth it!
