^^^ Yeah, I agree. Most people remember the po-po-po-poker face part. Also, I think GaGa writes her own melodies as well. RedOne puts the synths in, but GaGa knows what notes she wants with the lyrics when she writes songs. I believe It's in one of her many interviews.

I think it's insulting that she has the audacity to cite classic horror movies and Europe as inspirations and all she delivers is a cursory, exploitative, and half-baked concept in return. I wasn't expecting anything intellectual, I was expecting something worth the hype though.

It amazes me how most people still fall for GaGa's so-called "daring" style.

Im sorry Bobby but this might disappoint you but Im really digging this song. And when I say really, I meant it.
I think could use some of "Ignorance is bliss"'s maxim.

i remember her saying that.... i wonder what kind of ballad it will be too since it's going to be the first one since all those recorded so long ago...like wheather she'll keep the same piano vibe in honest/brown eyes or if it will be something we've never seen her do... i think "speechless" will definately be a fan favorite though

The credits involve both lyrical and instrumental writing. The credits for all songs but Brown Eyes refer to producers like RedOne or the Cherry Cherry boom whatever guy. Brown Eyes is solely attributed to GaGa because, you guessed it, it's a piano song just like Again Again.

I don't think Bobby - or me, for what matters - is telling anyone not to like this song. He just doesn't want it to be treated as something it definitely isn't.

We're not discussing the melodies, we're talking about her talent as a songwriter. She has great ideas for songs, awesome melodies, etc but the lyrics fall flat nearly every single time IMO.

Oh, starstruck, I was just referencing when somebody said that RedOne makes the melody to the lyrics, that's all (which isn't true). And yes, some of GaGa's lyrics are disappointing. Eh, Eh, to start with.

I didn't know that... that's really disappointing actually. It's the worst song on the album.

I don't get what point you are trying to prove. She writes her own lyrics! The words came from her own head. Akon wrote the Colby verse in Just Dance, but other than that she writes everything. Nobody else came up with "p-p-p-Poker Face P-P-Poker Face!" or "I wanna take a ride on your disco stick." She also helped produce melodies and synth work when working with RedOne.

Like I said, it's also the song without synthy production. If all the other songs on the album were also piano only, the only person credited on The Fame would be GaGa.

How can you prove that though? We don't know that she wrote every lyric.

Have to get this off my chest - I really hate the "I'm a free bitch, baby" that she shouts randomly in the background during the second pre-chorus. It's obnoxious, has nothing to do with the song, and it's there for no other reason than to pander to the gay queens who will be shouting it around the world.

That's the thing, you can't be sure she's the one behind the "p-p-p-poker face" mantra when she's isn't the only one credited as the writer.

and anyone not in denial (key quality) knows dam well gaga wrote all those quirky repetitive sounds like p-p-p-p-p-p-poker face, and just dd-d-d-d-d-d-d-dance.... just watch ONE live performance and you cant deny that
