Yesterday, the chorus to Gold was stuck in my head. I definitely did not expect that.

trouble is stuck in my head everyday. ID keeps tweeting that tonight is the release, and i'm sad because i've known all the songs for, what, four days? it's always the worst when you get an album, because all that waiting is over. well, good and bad. good because you get the album finally, bad because there's nothing left to wait for.

I've made a mixtape consisting of 10 S+M songs and 6 NV songs and LAWD help me with the SLAYAGE!!! I cannot even deal how much of a band they had become!!!!! Polaroid is still my fave song on the album! Hihi and it seems like all my classmates agree with me!

I'm So Sorry, Polaroid, Shots, Friction & Smoke And Mirrors are my favorites. Don't love the album as much as Night Visions but I'm sure I'll end up loving this one as much as their previous. I'm seeing them in April and I am so excited.

Oh, I just realized this... One second, it sounds like a Katy Perry song, then a great guitar solo kicks in. Hopeless Opus has potential as a song (the chorus is great), but I can't get past the production. That moody synth that runs through the entire song just kinda leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

I think that's the case with a lot of the songs on here... They're good, but the band sure made some strange decisions when writing the music. Like why the hell does everything get loud as **** for a few seconds before the chorus on Smoke and Mirrors? And then that bridge in I'm So Sorry that sounds like a completely different song.

Sometimes it works, such as the yelp and chanting in Gold, but most of the time it doesn't. (I also think that Gold would benefit greatly from a heavier drumbeat, but that's just me...)

i get what you are saying about the strange decisions they made, but that's kind of what makes me happy. like, whether or not it was a strange or safe decision, they went with it, and clearly had complete control over the bdoy of work they put out. not every gets that.

almost every song has at least one strange or different feature:
Shots - the bridge is interesting
Gold - the weird yelping sampling
SAM - the harmonies in the bridge, very different
ISS - pretty different for them. nothing too "out there," but it's different for them
IBML - the choir sampling

and etc. the list goes on. basically, even though there are some strange things going on with the album, i am really happy with the flawed, imperfect final product, because id o think it's exactly what they wanted
