Problem Great song! One of the only ones I purchased individually, too.
Queen of the Clouds Such an awesome debut. You SLAY for appreciating my top 2 faves: Thousand Miles and Timebomb!

What a track I'm very imressed.
I only have something by Kelela but have been meaning to get into the other artists
YES. Although Meshes is slightly better and a total bop.

I didn't like those Sky B-sides though.
I think they're kind of stupid for not including "Everything Is Embarrassing" + "I'm on Top" in the album. But idk, who really knows why.

Jessy Lanza seems interesting, I've only heard a few songs from hers but I should check out her album too. I liked Ought as well but I don't think I heard their album in its entirety either. More to listen to!
Jessy Lanza's album is great! You've probably heard Caribou's "Second Chance", she sings in it and it's fantastical.

Trust me, I hated Timebomb the first time I heard it, but for some reason I loved it now. I don't know.
#70. Kiesza - "Hideaway" from the album 'Sound of a Woman' Genre: Deep House, UK Garage, Dance-Pop
Chicago House, Nu-Disco Country: Canada - Label: Island
"You're just a hideaway, you're just a feeling!"
Although I feel like she's obviously a one-hit wonder, I feel like this hit won't be forgotten any time soon. This is way too catchy to ever be forgotten. The beats are energetic and an obvious revival of 90's House music. Really adorable, but the video is seriously what makes this everything.
#69. Beyoncé feat. Jay Z - "Drunk in Love" from the album 'BEYONCÉ' Genre: Contemporary R&B, Pop Rap
Trap Rap, Trap Country: USA - Label: Columbia
"SURFBOARDT"
Probably one of the most shamelessly sexual songs coming from Bey. That's probably why I love it... and why it is on this, say, suggestive position. Got old kinda quickly but still GREAT.
Also... SURFBOARDT. SURFBOARDT.
#35. Perfect ***** - 'Say Yes To Love' Highlights: "Driver", "Interference Fits", "VII", "Work" Genre: Noise Rock, Post-Hardcore
Noise, Hardcore Punk, Riot Grrrl, Lo-Fi, Noise Pop Country: USA - Label: Captured Tracks You'll like it if you like: Melt-Banana, Iceage
It's an angry record. Yes, for sure. But it's also a sad one, a really honest one, a fun one, an aggressive one. And it works so well. This album got a mixed reception, but I don't think it's for the music itself, but more because of Meredith Graves, the band's vocalist, feminist attitudes, which still proves how stupid the world is. Still, it's probably one of the most interesting Rock albums I've heard this year. Slay!
#68. Panda Bear - "Mr Noah" from the album 'Panda Bear Meets the Grim Reaper' Genre: Psychedelic Pop
Neo-Psychedelia, Indietronica, Noise Pop Country: USA - Label: Domino
"This dog got bit on a le-e-e-e-g!"
One of the most directly poppy songs Noah Lennox has ever made. I really like this song because its probably one of his catchiest songs, but it's still quite odd and the lyrics are... well, a bit... disturbing, I guess? But it works for me.
#67. Swans - "Oxygen" from the album 'To Be Kind' Genre: Noise Rock
No Wave, Post-Punk, Experimental Rock Country: USA - Label: Mute
"I'll steal all the oxygen!"
Aggressive, raw, in your face, threatening, is probably the closest to early Swans we'll ever have again. But it's not like that's a big problem, because, well, Post-Rock Swans are amazing, and as long as they make songs as punishing as this, then I'm fine with it.
#34. Andy Stott - 'Faith In Strangers' Highlights: "Faith In Strangers", "On Oath", "How It Was", "Violence" Genre: IDM
UK Bass, Dub Techno, Ambient Techno, Ambient Pop Country: UK - Label: Modern Love You'll like it if you like: Boards of Canada, Millie and Andrea, Aphex Twin
This is a bit different for Andy Stott, it is less focused on atmospheric Techno and more focused around dark beats and some vocals here and there. But, I mean, it's still Andy Stott, just so we're clear, it's obvious it's going to be good.
Super happy to see "Mr Noah" as well. Have you heard Panda Bear's album? I know it leaked several weeks ago, but I've been obsessed with it lately. Definitely going to place it on my 2015 list.
#66. Lykke Li - "No Rest for the Wicked" from the album 'I Never Learn' Genre: Indie Pop
Art Pop, Chamber Pop, Dream Pop Country: Sweden - Label: Atlantic
"I had a heart, but I broke it every time..."
One of the most emotional songs in 'I Never Learn'. Which is saying a lot. It kinda got old for me, but I can't deny the chorus is just huge, and the lyrics in the bridge really break my heart. I feel you Lykke.
#65. Hannah Diamond - "Attachment" Genre: Bubblegum Bass, Art Pop
Synthpop, Glitch Pop, Alternative R&B, UK Bass Country: UK - Label: PC Music
"Everytime you see me, I'm on my own..."
My love life resumed in just 4 minutes. This might not be Kate Bush, but for a Pop song (or whatever the PC music thing is), it's INCREDIBLY odd. You get a Pop ballad, but then, in the chorus, you have... well, just listen to it yourself. It's incredible though.
#33. Thom Yorke - 'Tomorrow's Modern Boxes' Highlights: "The Mother Load", "Interference", "A Brain in a Bottle" Genre: Glitch Pop, Indietronica
IDM, Ambient Pop, Art Pop, Microhouse Country: UK - Label: self-released You'll like it if you like: his first album, Boards of Canada, Sweet Trip
A really underrated album right here. Sure, it's not the best thing he could ever do, let alone with Radiohead, but still an album that, despite not being reaaaaaally full of melodies, has really pleasant and playful atmosphere.
Probably one of the most shamelessly sexual songs coming from Bey. That's probably why I love it... and why it is on this, say, suggestive position. Got old kinda quickly but still GREAT
Nice to see love for Panda Bear (I just ordered his album!) I'm hoping it will be better than Avey's!
And I'm a Radiohead stan so I love everything Thom and Radiohead do Nice to see you highlight the album
#64. Lust for Youth - "Running" from the album 'International' Genre: Synth Pop, Balearic Beat
Dream Pop, EBM, Dance-Pop Country: Sweden/Denmark - Label: Sacred Bones
As repetitive as it can be, the synthesizers, the vocals, the melodies, the beats, everything here sounds like heaven. As opposed to their first stuff, which as aggressive industrial music, this is amazingly crafted electronic-pop music. LOVE LOVE LOVE FOREVER. And yes, that girl @ 1:01 IS Pharmakon.
#63. Disclosure feat. Sasha Keable - "Voices" from the album 'Settle' Genre: Deep House, UK Funky
Dance-Pop, UK Garage, UK Bass Country: UK - Label: PMR
"I tried to dismiss, what you thought me..."
One of the things I love from this song is the lyrical dissonance. The lyrics about, I think... a really violent/manipulative relationship? or something like that, I don't know, while the song itself is really upbeat and catchy. I'm obviously not complaining with that.
#32. The Range - 'Nonfiction' Highlights: "Metal Swing", "Loftmane", "Seneca", "The One" Genre: IDM, Future Garage
Footwork, Wonky, Glitch Hop, Ambient House Country: USA - Label: Donky Pitch You'll like it if you like: Four Tet, Flying Lotus, Machinedrum
This is one of the very few IDM albums that focuses on the D part of the genre. And for D, I mean DANCE. This is a really fun album, that, if you dig this kind of music, you can find yourself enjoying it. The vocal samples found throught the album are insane as well.
#62. Javiera Mena - "Espada" from the album 'Otra Era' Genre: Synthpop, Electropop, Synthwave
NuDisco, Dance-Pop, Electro House Country: Chile - Label: Unión Del Sur
"Quiero que tu espada me atraviese solamente a mi!"
QUEEN of Latin America. Many people had a mixed reaction to this song, complaining that it was waaaay to poppy for Javiera, but I mean, she's always made Pop music, and she found success with this song, and this song is AMAZING, so? Also, the video is basically the biggest mess ever.
#61. 18+ - "Crow" from the album 'Trust' Genre: Alternative R&B
Snap, Trip Hop, Experimental Hip Hop Country: USA - Label: Houndstooth
"Pretend that you're happy..."
The xx gone R&B… or something like that… with crow samples in the beats. The description might seem a little odd, but in fact, its oddity is the reason of why I love it so much. These guys really know how to write infectious, but melancholic, songs, and I love them.
#31. Sd Laika - 'That's Harakiri' Highlights: "I Don’t", "Meshes", "Gutter Vibrations", "Great God Pan" Genre: UK Bass
Grime, Noise, Glitch, Wonky Country: USA - Label: Tri Angle You'll like it if you like: Evian Christ, The Haxan Cloak, Burial
Sd Laika's debut album could only be comparable to getting punched in the face. Really. Ok, maybe I'm slightly exaggerating, but 'That's Harakiri' really feels aggressive, unexpected and as confusing as getting punched could make you feel like.
Esperaba ver a "Oxygen" más alta.
Bien por "Hideaway", "Running" y "Voices" . no escuché las demás, así que recién lo hice, me gustó mucho "Crow" y "No Rest for the Wicked".
De los álbumes solo escuché a Andy Stott! De The Range escuché un par de temas y no me gustó mucho y la portada me da arcadas (), Yorke me dio pereza por eso tampoco lo escuché.
El tema de Sd Laika suena muy bien.
