Her first 24 hours wasn't impressive? Her first 24 hours outsold people's total album sales. Her first 24 hours would have guaranteed her a spot in the top 10 best selling albums of the year. But nah, it wasn't impressive.

Any sane fan, can see that BOTH Taylor & Bey's sales are indeed impressive. You cannot deny either albums. Both achieved magnificent feats.

She was. She was scared of releasing singles that wouldn't generate traction, and therefore released the album right away so it would sell on shock factor alone. Had she used the traditional metod it would not have sell that much, look at her long term sales as proof.

That's invalid. RED is supposed to be cross-genre. I meant that 1989 is a full pop record with no country elements.

We all know anyway if a BEYONCE rerelease happens it's solely gonna be for the purpose of boosting up sales, when Taylor doesn't even NEED a rerelease because she's coming for that 1M opening.

Her long terms sales didn't live up to what could have been because she did not promote the album other than a few scattered performances. Unlike Bey, Taylor will continue to push her record to give it some legs. Bey dropped the album and went back to her tour business. And her sales in 2014 aren't bad at all. It's the best selling album by an artist (Outside of the Frozen Soundtrack). That will change when Taylor's sales come in, of course.

The simple FACT that Bey didn't even give her album a full week of sales, knowing damn well that nobody knew about her album b4 it suddenly dropped on iTunes, makes her a CHAMPION in my eyes.

She clearly doesn't give a damn about charts or sales!

Whatever Red was meant to be matters little, because the claim that she switched genres completely cannot be made if she was previously making pop music on other albums. As I said, it's not even a switch it's an evolution.

Yes! While I find it very impressive that she just released it out of nowhere, I'm always amazed at how clearly unbothered she was about her first week sales position.

What Beyonce did was FEARLESS & BRAVE! A boss ass move. Not afraid to break the mold, trying something different from the normal that has been placed and expected for artists to do, breaking the "rules" and doing it her way. No artist today would've taken that risk.

One of the many things I love and stan for about Beyonce, she's not afraid of falling/hitting a wall and that alone makes her stand above the rest.

Instead of getting more generic with each album, she defies that and does it her way, whether that fits with a current trend (the slick R&B of BEYONCÉ) or goes against a current trend (the old school R&B of 4, in a time of dance pop).

Beyonce, number 1, its r&b mostly, and no one knew it was coming. Taylor is pop mostly and everyone knew her album was coming, the date was set etc. Taylor's is impressive too, but considering Bey is r&b and didn't promote, I'm going with Bey. Also, Bey has managed to outsell Prism even with Prism having 2 number one hits.

Not to mention, Bey is doing all this almost 18yrs into her career, when all her peers from the 90, Britney, Xtina etc can't even go platinum ww, thats more impressive imo.
