Finally able to load this thread now that things have died down a it.
Everything about that livechat and this song is perfect- catchy production with bass notes but isn't reliant on them (like some people were worried about) and the lyrics are fun and relatable. I'm honestly in love with the song and the message it carries. The MV is amazing as well, not too much going on but after the explanation about what inspired it and what it represents love everything about this.

Why do so many people not like it? I'm a little disappointed that there probably won't be any country songs on the new album, but at the same time, her pop music is flawless as well and I'm excited. I thought "Shake It Off" was great. And I also love that she's managed to continue to make great music that's appropriate for any age without making cheesy teeny bop music. She's matured musically and lyrically, but she's done so without losing any of her fans because her lyrics are appropriate for any demographic. She's such a good role model and I love her writing so much! "Shake It Off" is flawless, in my opinion!
