Does "Counting Stars" have a chance to top for the first time the States?
It's not out of question, and I will absolutely love if this happens, even prefering Timber as my fave song right now.

Points for this week were:

2231 VS 2016

Things look good for Timber since it seems to be a very good hot song on radio, meanwhile Counting Stars doesn't have that much room to grow.
The difference of points between the two biggest hits right now for this week was: 215 (around 9%), that difference would be smaller and actually positive for Counting Stars (being the biggest):

215 = 54k of sales = A difference of 4% even Timber selling more
215 = 43M of Airplay = An advantage of 41% on Radio over Timber (not likely)
215 = 2.4M of Streaming

Still can't believe this song didn't go #1. It was so huge!

I don't know if the new formula is to blame, but getting a #1 feels like a much bigger task now than it did before. EVERYONE ends up getting blocked by one specific song that stays at the top spot forever and there's hardly any movement in the top 3, sometimes even in the entire top 5.

Js if I were incharge of these record labels I would be giving discounts to my artists for a week if I knew they were going to peak at #2 or #3. That way songs from last year like Suit & Tie, Get Lucky, We Can't Stop, Stay, I Knew You Were Trouble, Mirrors, etc would have had a week at #1. They all deserved it.

Problem is that discounts hurt sales in the long run. They want as many sales as they can
