Surprise album .An album that came out of the blue, not announced. If you were referring to Yeezus and Holy Grail or something it doesn't count because they were announced .And the reason why i "don't know anything" is because these other albums are irrelevant to me, and i simply don't care to know about them. Beyoncé is not Target's exclusive client. She worked with them for one album release. That's it. She is not required to have exclusive deals with them for every release. She can give her exclusive to Wal Mart, to Best Buy, or to iTunes if she wants.

This is preventing nothing because Beyoncé is still winning and that's literally ALL the other record labels will see. All this will do is give iTunes more exclusives and Target less. They've accomplished nothing.

But everyone's not Beyonce, what he was saying is that it was pretty much a threat to other artist to not pull the same stunt, unfortunately for them Beyonce's success has the industry excited.

iTunes is as much of a competitor as Wal*Mart and BestBuy are. In fact, Wal*Mart and BestBuy are bigger competitors to Target than iTunes because iTunes doesn't compete for physical sales, which is it's own market. People have been giving specific retailers week exclusives for ages.

Anyway, that's ridiculous to assume. Garth Brooks, the person she's blocking this week, dropped his Walmart set and is moving units. Susan Boyle blew up and people instantly started purchasing her music with no relevant promotion or songs at radio. You're making the music consumer seem completely idiotic. If they want something, they'll get it. Regardless of how it's put out to them.

The sales are coming from a) being an established artist, b) positive word of mouth and c) premium packaging. Simple as that.

But illegal downloading still happens today, and has grown since 2005. So i'm pretty sure it applies. Why the **** is everyone on some sort of rude pill tho? JC
