Yep, and even weirder case is Bon Iver submitting in 2009, not submitting in 2010, but submitting in 2011 (and winning). I think they judge based on when an artist "first received public notice." It's a very gray area. An artist should only be eligible for Best New Artist once, imo.

And besides, her album slays the rest of the possible nominees in the Pop album category, so I don't see why would they get tired of her.

There's no way Taylor beats Justin in Pop album, IF her album is submitted there.

Yeezus, Good Kid MaAd City, Nothing Was the Same, The Heist, Born Sinner, Magna Carter. if anyone is gonna being left out of this category it will be Kanye though. Hes had 0 hits from his latest effort.

They'll bump it up to six nominees and include all of those. Unless Drake drums up a lot of buzz and carries it on into January, Macklemore will probably take it.

I agree. But at least it'll get a nomination (hopefully).

They will probably enter her in Country Album so she has a better chance of winning.

Bruno could be a threat for Pop Album, if nominated for AOTY. Think about John Mayer defeating Justin Timberlake in 2007, with Justin having the bigger album.

Kanye will have the meltdown of all meltdowns if he's snubbed. I'm here for it!

If she goes Pop she wont win. And if she goes Country she wont win. I dont see "Red" being an album category winner although its probably one of my fave Taylor albums. If she goes Pop she has Justin and Bruno to try and beat. If she goes Country she has Luke. Id say her best shot is in Country. And odds are she'll stay there.

Her team will probably submit it to the country categories though since they're easier to win for her, although it could backfire with the committee thinking she sold out by turning to a more pop sound.

Both of them will be up for Album and Pop Album together. I see either Mirrors or LOOH winning Pop Solo.
or if theres any good left in the world it will go to Diamonds. LOL, unlikey. but the song came on as i typed this so its a sign.

I need the Grammys to have a "Best Crossover Album" category. The girl is not country nor pop. She's a mix of country, pop and rock. Why aren't there awards for being genreless?

I agree, and Bruno has been very underawarded considering his success over the last few years. They have the chance to make up for it.

Ok. Yeah that thing about Bon is really weird and you are right about the last part as I think the same.
I am rooting for Lorde, Lana and Ariana to be nominated, although I want the latter one to win. What about Tegan & Sara? The World kinda discovered them now after all this Time too

Oh, the genre nomination is locked. I'm not so sure about AOTY cause she made some people angry with her pop leaning songs, but she's the most (only) viable female contender and previous AOTY winner.

The Academy could decide to move Taylor's album to one category, even if it was submitted to another. That's the screening process. I think it will go country and the Academy will keep it there. But I think Luke Bryan could be the frontrunner, or someone whose album is "truly country."

Is that what happened to Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded (pop) last year, or did YMCMB enter her like that?

I dont see Macklemore winning Rap Album. m not saying its because hes white but I dont see him beating Kendric. Thats Kendrick's award. His Control freestyle kinda sealed his fate tbh. If he doesnt get ANYTHING next year he'll get that.
