I don't think it's Demi. She doesn't need a re-entrance to radio because GYHaB was played non-stop in 2012. In fact, I heard it today. Beyoncé hasn't had a Top 10 radio hit in 3 years (Best Thing I Never Had, her last biggest radio hit, only went Top 15 & no one really cared for it). So she's in need of a formal "re-introduction" to Top 40 radio. I still think it is Bey. We all know her album is coming in April so the late February single release makes a ton of sense.

I think his Demi hyping is a separate thing. Why would he be secretive one day & be so direct about who he's premiering in ten days the very next day? That's a giveaway & leaves none of the suspense he clearly wants.

And what you said only applies to pop radio. Beyonce was all over urban radio in 2011 and 2012.

Ryan Seacrest is all about Top 40 radio, so my assumption is that he's only talking in terms of mainstream pop airplay.

LoT & Party definitely weren't bigger overall AI hits than BTINH. BTINH was the only song from 4 I remember charting in the overall Top 20.
