She's under a 7 album contract(to my knowledge), and is at 2/7. The problem is that Blackground most likely doesn't have the money to get a SINGLE album out, since their last release was in 2009 with Timbaland's Shock Value 2.

Isnt blackground releasing the aaliyah record or is that not happening anymore? I feel like they're really hoping for money coming back from that project .

It just sucks because say JoJo's mixtape takes on Frank Ocean Nostalgia Ultra type of success, Blackground is then gonna turn around and find a way to put out her album which means they'll be making money off her, money they dont deserve because shes the one that went out and put together the mixtape.

Well, they need a distribution deal in order to get an album out(which they recently lost this year with Interscope) - It's just stupid how they had a distribution deal for 5 years(dating back to 2007 with Shock Value 1) and they only put out THREE albums out. Blackground is just a HUGE mess, and needs to shut down so that they can reevaluate their life.

YEP. It's sad that even though they're in the sh***er, have no money to release an album, and have lost their distribution deal - that they want to clasp onto her and drag her down with them. :/

It made me SOOOOOOOOOO happy last night when Demi did a shout out to JoJo. It came out of left field...

I saw JoJo last year when she did a show in Phoenix, and as usual, she was perfection and so sweet!

She has the biggest career head scratcher EVER to me! She has one of the BEST young voices out there, and all the songs she has been releasing have been amazing!
